Anzu KL

When I read that there is a new Japanese eatery that specialises in tonkatsu here in Lot 10, KL, I plan to eat there to celebrate a special occasion. We went there yesterday for lunch and ordered all three of the limited Ginjo Pork Tonkatsu Sets (black pig) in the menu to try and all four of us agreed that this is the best tonkatsu eatery in KL now. The pork is juicy, tender with crispy batter but not oily. We chose to have brown rice and both types of soup - bean soup and seaweed soup among the 4 of us.

Ginjo Pork Fillet Katsu Set - MYR55+ 6% GST (MYR58.30 nett)

Very very thick pork fillet which is a bit pink in the middle

Small pork loin katsu set - MYR35+ (MYR37.10 nett). This item is not from the limited section of the menu so it would be available all day.

See the difference? The small pork loin katsu with the thick pork fillet.

Ginjo Pork Loin Katsu Set - MYR48+ 6% GST (MYR50.88 nett)

Ginjo Pork Fatty Loin Katsu Set - MYR55+ 6% GST (MYR58.30 nett)

We had to grind our own sesame to make the sesame sauce

Unlimited refillable rice and finely shredded cabbage. There are a few types of slightly sweet brown sauce provided.

Free appetiser - pickled shredded radish.

Shiso mayonnaise (shiso leaves) is also provided in the mini decanter jug in the photo above. I like the taste of shiso leaves which lift up the taste of the mayonnaise.

Total bill MYR204.80 for 4pax (on average around MYR50 per person). I  think we will just eat here once a year for celebrations.

Entrance

Limited seats so be there early at 11 am or be prepared to wait for a while.

Main entrance to all the new Japanese restaurants in Isetan, Lot 10.

Operating Hours. I think should be 11 am and not 10 am so do call to confirm.

    2. I have tried both SG Anzu and MY Anzu, And felt that the one at Lot10 is better in terms of service and quality. Add to that the extremely affordable prices in RM, i think they got a winner here.

  8. I'm wary of pink pork... thought not supposed to have pork rare.
