Snowflake

Two of us shared this bowl of shaved ice on a hot day. I only use a bit of the creamer provided in the small container as seen in the photo next to the bowl. Next time I will return the creamer because the ice is fine on its own. MYR7.90 nett.

A closer look - shaved grass jelly ice, grass jelly, chewy taro and sweet potatoes glutinous rice balls.

Snowflake at Kuchai Lama - I just ordered the cold best seller and did not order an ala carte ice.

  1. https://suituapui.wordpress.com/2011/12/01/let-it-snow/ so no, thank you. We have a lot of such places here - I did drop by Blackball with friends quite recently, not nice either and so expensive!!! My missus was shocked - looking at the prices. Call me old school, but give me my ang tao cendol anytime!

    1. Thanks for the link. Left a comment at your Snowflake post. There is Blackball in Sibu? The Blackball outlet in Sri Petaling closed down long ago.

  2. I haven't tried this. There used to be a Blackball near my place but they have since closed down.

    1. The Blackball at Sri Petaling closed down too but the Snowflake here in Kuchai Lama seems to be doing ok.

    1. Snowflake, Black Ball and MeetFresh all sell Taiwanese shaved ice desserts so that's why all of them have the same taro balls but Snowflake is the oldest brand here.

  5. This looks like Taiwanese desserts, in SG they are very popular but same as STP, I am old school, I prefer the old style chendol

    1. You are right, this is Taiwanese dessert for people who like QQ food with cold shaved ice.

  6. i tried this before, i guess many many years ago when they were new, in their outlet in Pavilion.. we each ordered one and took us like ages to finish the bowl, hahaha.. so it was actually very wise of you to share the bowl with your partner..

  7. When I lived in Taman Desa for many years, I ate at this Snowflake's outlet so often. I have forgotten about this favourite place until now. Thank you for reminding me to visit that place again as I love their crushed icy desserts and chewy balls.
