From one chicken to another

I was in One Utama recently and noticed a new eatery opposite Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert shop.

This Ayam Penyet (Smashed Fried Chicken) eatery has replaced the BBQ Chicken below.

This BBQ Chicken is no longer at One Utama but there are still many outlets around the country.

  1. this section of 1U looks familiar to me.. if not mistaken, before the BBQ Chicken, it was some other chicken (with a green color design) as well..

    1. I believe there was another Korean Chicken eatery somewhere along the same row a few years ago.

    1. Ok, let's see how long this can stay there. I think there is another Penyet eatery in One Utama which is located somewhere opposite near Sushi Zanmai.

  3. Oh, I'm a chicken too! Born in 1981. Ayam penyet, ate a lot during the heydays, it was called nasi lalapan in Sarawak (probably coz it came from a different part of Indonesia).

  5. I think this BBQ Chicken is not doing too well. Their outlet in Penang almost deserted at most times. The KL outlets, probably being sucker punched by Kyochon :/ ...

  6. This corner of 1u somehow a bit quiet. That pricey chinese restaurant here is empty too so guess it's a matter of time. See if Ayam Penyet can break the duck.

    1. I think I know which pricey chinese restaurant you are referring to. There is also a new wanton mee eatery that has a long queue opposite the pricey chinese restaurant.

  7. nowadays I see ayam penyet everywhere, but I'm not interested to try them, perhaps it doesn't look appealing among the other franchise restaurant.
