Ko Hyang

Pa Jeon (Seafood pancake with spring onion) with Banchan (3 side dishes) at MYR14.9+ 6% GST (MYR15.80 nett) at Ko Hyang, the Gardens Mall. I like to eat this Korean pancake because it is crispy outside but soft yet chewy inside but I could not finish one on my own so I ended up taking half home as dinner because my lunch companion does not want to eat any pancake.

I did not take photo of the food my friend ordered. For two pax, the total bill is MYR35.40 nett.

WG Ko Hyang Gardens

Ko Hyang at the Gardens Mall used to operate out of a kiosk but now they have moved to a better location and bigger space within the same mall.

I have been there twice now and for both occasions, I ordered the same item which is Gun Man Du (dumplings) at MYR 10.90+ (6% SST = MYR 11.55 nett).

They are the same except for one of the side dishes. The colour difference is because of the settings of the camera. In real life, they are the same. I like these dumplings because glass noodle is one of the ingredients for the fillings.

Ra Myeon (Ramen) and Soon Dubu Ji Gye (Tofu Stew) are dishes that my friends order frequently in this eatery. Total Bill for 3 pax is MYR 46.95 nett so it is about MYR 15.65 per pax.

WG Ko Hyang Mango Snow Ice

It is Gun Man Du (dumplings) at MYR 10.90+ (6% SST = MYR 11.55 nett) at Ko Hyang, Gardens Mall for me again. This time I tried their Mango Snow Ice too at MYR 7.90+ (MYR 8.37 nett) so my lunch costs a total of MYR 19.90 nett.

Not a big bowl. Taste ok, not too sweet and is refreshing. The red beans are not necessary but did not clash with the mango ice.

I think this dessert menu is new, perhaps it is introduced this year.

Total price for 2 pax is MYR 39.55 nett. An average of about MYR 19.77 per pax.

WG Ko Hyang 1U

I felt like eating fish so I ordered a Saba set at MYR 20.90+ (6% GST = MYR 22.20 nett). Just need to be careful of the bones near the belly area. As usual, kept half for dinner.

My 2 friends shared a KimChi JiGae by adding a bowl of plain rice at MYR 2.10 nett. Total Bill for 3 pax at Ko Hyang, One Utama is MYR 43.90 nett.

Ra Myeon

I don't know what I was thinking of when I ordered this spicy seafood Ra Myeon (Ramen) at MYR14.90+ (6% GST = MYR15.80 nett). Luckily I put half the noodles into my trusted container because I was very full when I finished eating the remaining noodles in my bowl. It was spicy and salty but satisfying because I like to eat instant noodles and this tastes like expensive instant noodles. I had to summon all my will power to withstand this level of spiciness as my tongue and mouth were burning.

This Ra Myeon includes 3 banchans: kimchi, anchovies, and long beans. I took most of the kimchi home for dinner and of course I did not ask for any refills.

Both my friends ordered rice sets and none of us had drinks. The previous visit to Ko Hyang, Gardens Mall, I just ate a pancake.

Full Want at Gardens

This is a new eatery at the Gardens Mall, same row with Ko Hyang.

Just order and pay at the counter and wait to collect your meal when it is done. All self-service.

This eatery is from Taiwan so they have this large photo of Taipei 101 on one of the walls.

Please click on the above menu for a larger image. Which item would you like to order from it?

Beef wrap combo at MYR 19.90 nett. A signature wheat black tea drink which I requested to be without any sugar so I find it very tasty with a strong wheat tea taste, a packet of sweet potatoes fries which is soft on the inside and very crunchy on the outside because it is coated in a thin layer of crisp solid syrup and the beef wrap.

No extra charges.

As it is quite hot when it was ready, I took it home before I ate it.

Cross section. The beef slices could be more tender and I did not like the mayo but I like the spring onion pancake so I will try another pancake wrap next time - the beef and egg wrap. Hopefully the homemade radish chili sauce is not too spicy for me.

Oyster King at Gardens Mall

After reading STP's article about  or chian or oyster omelette, I was lamenting the difficulty of locating oyster omelette in KL when my husband reminded me that I can always buy it from Oyster King eateries which are located in some shopping malls. I have seen the chain of Oyster King eateries but I have never eaten anything from there, no idea why. So when I have a chance, I went to Oyster King at the Gardens Mall which is located on the lowerground floor next to Ko Hyang.

I intended to buy just this Superior Fried Oyster at MYR 14.50 nett

Other dishes

Which wings flavour would you choose?

I ended up buying Combo 1 which is that signature oyster dish plus one other dish of my choice at MYR 22 nett.

Takeaway - packed in paper boxes which is a good thing.

I chose lala fried mee hoon as the other dish and ate it the next day. I did not expect the oyster omelette to be spicy. It was on the oily side too. I did not count the number of oysters but I think there were about 6 oysters. The eggs covered the gooey stuffs which were quite firm so it did not feel gooey. Quite acceptable except that it was a bit too spicy for me so I don't think I will order this again.

*** Monday 27 July 2020 d132 ***

8.08 am - not my breakfast of the previous day 3jc mee hoon hor fun with added vege and siew yuk.

12.47 noon - he could not finish his breakfast so left these for my lunch.

1.08 pm - not my lunch - ingredients from the home cooked soup with home cooked mee hoon.

4.57 pm - one slice of 7 sprouted grain rainbow bread with mash potatoes from Texas Chicken bought on Friday. As with all cold mash potatoes from the fridge, it was very salty.

6.55 pm - both of us finished up the soup with all the ingredient inside - dried oysters, cashew nuts, green marrow gourd and ginger.

WG Sweet Lamb

Ko Hyang is my friend's favourite casual K. eatery so we ended up eating here quite frequently. After trying their pancake, spicy ramen, and saba meals, this time I ordered Lamb BBQ at MYR 23.90 nett. As usual I kept half the portion for dinner. My friend who tried a few slices of the lamb feels that it is too sweet due to the sauce used to marinate it I guess.

Total Bill for 4 pax is MYR 62.90 nett because 2 friends shared 1 set of Kim Chi Ji Gae with an extra bowl of plain rice at MYR 2 nett.
