Cooked Dried Up

On Tuesday 4.march.2025, early morning, we went to Thong Kee for breakfast, then he cooked prawns lunch, stew ribs daikon carrots for his early dinner and sweet potatoes tong Sui which turned into cooked sweet potatoes because the tong Sui water all dried up, reason being he didn't think that the pot could get so hot so fast till the boiling water could dry up so fast. Luckily he could there in time when I asked him, no need to jaga api? to save the pot and sweet potatoes but no more tong Sui because no more water in the pot and he has to scrub the burnt sweet potatoes from the pot.

*** Diy garlic coriander carrots prawns ***

11.47 am - he cooked this dish for lunch.

11.48 am - a lot of chopped up garlic 🧄 

12.09 noon - my portion of prawns, red carrots, coriander, garlic eaten just like that without rice.

*** Ho Liao ssg ***

2.13 pm - my friend contacted me that my friend is having red yeast wine chicken mee sua nearby so I walked to the eatery and then we walked to ho Liao to chit chat further from 1.42 pm to 3.21 pm and then I walked home in 3 minutes.

At ho Liao I just ordered 4 items so that we could sit in the quiet air conditioned environment to chit chat and catch up. Our previous meet up was on Monday 19.feb.2024, a year+ ago where I also ate my last durian. Didn't eat any durian after that day.

2.16 pm - my friend only wanted a glass of hot water 90+ cents. Nowadays this is the only drink my friend drinks, no coffee no tea no sugary drinks because just had polyps removed after cny. I ordered spinach malabar MYR 7.50+ and requested the eatery to put the spinach malabar into the fish paste wantons soup MYR 7.50+ no noodles. I also ordered iced cham MYR 5.50+
Total: MYR 24.80 nett.

*** Thong Kee Sri Petaling ***

7.54 am - I didn't order anything, just shared his food. He ordered MYR 11.50 nett:
2 curry puffs 4.6
2Soft boiled eggs 3.3
Hot cham 3.6
From the Wang Zhi ipoh hor fun stall he ordered chicken pieces prawns hor fun MYR 13.50 nett which he shared with me.

*** Dried up sweet potato tong sui ***

3.41 pm - this is supposed to be ginger pandan leaves sweet potatoes tong sui aka sugared water but the water was boiled till dried up so only salvaged some cooked sweet potatoes. I ate some sweet potatoes, still taste good with ginger taste. 😋

3.40 pm - he ate this portion of diy ribs daikon red carrots stew for his early dinner.

3.41 pm - he kept this point in the fridge for another day.

  1. Oh dear about the sweet potato thong sui. Sometimes we can forget to check on the water but luckily could still salvage the sweet potatoes. My dad once boiled eggs until the water dried up and the pot got burnt. Luckily discovered in time before anything bad happened.

    1. He burnt one pot before in the past 5 years so I guess I have no choice but to Jaga API and air for him now whenever he wants to cook because I said please no need to cook, we can always eat out but he wants to cook.
