Have you eaten this before?
They are chewy and gummy. My friend bought them from Bangkok and she told me that once she starts eating them, she can't stop.
I believe that there are a few brands for this but this is her favourite brand.
It is made from Tamarind (Assam), Sugar, Salt and Syrup without any preservatives. I can't find this product locally so I guess we need to buy them from Bangkok.
No, I have not eaten this before, how does it taste? Sweet? Savory?
ReplyDeleteSweet and sourish.
DeleteI wonder if I can find that here, would love to try. Nothing like our asamboi, obviously.
ReplyDeleteNot as big as asamboi.
DeleteThat good? I don't know I would enjoy it or not. Sour is not my cup of tea. Hehe
ReplyDeleteDon't think you will find it that sour because it is sweet at the same time too.
DeleteI haven't seen this exact type before. The ones we have here are the sugar-coated ones right. But can imagine it'd be really addictive!
ReplyDeleteI have seen the sugar coated tamarind fruit.
DeleteGosh, I would love to try them too! xoxo
ReplyDeleteIf you go Bangkok can buy them to try. Maybe they can be found in Sg too.
DeleteI have never seen this before. Is it good? Just the thought of sweet and sour candies has my mouth watering hee...hee...
ReplyDeleteAll my friends say that it is good and once you start you can't stop.
DeleteI bought tamarind candy coated with fine sugar from Phuket but the colour is whiter than this.
ReplyDeletethe white should be the fine sugar.
DeleteI have been eating raw tamarind and those sugar coated since I was a toddler in Thailand. Nowadays I started drinking the tamarind juice which is popular at supermarkets as it has lots of hidden benefits.
ReplyDeleteyou can try these if you go bkk.
