I noticed a neighbourhood stall selling rolled chee cheong fun (flat rice noodles) at MYR1.50 nett for 1 roll so I bought 2 rolls.
The rolled chee cheong fun is filled with jicama aka yam bean (sengkuang) stir-fried with dried shrimps. Very flavourful indeed.
Wish I could make the skin, my girl is off popiah skin now - wheat, non-gluten free.
ReplyDeletethe skin is just normal chee cheong fun. you can buy the chee cheong fun sheets to wrap whatever fillings you want.
DeleteThis is something new to me to see this type of fillings. I think I will like it.
ReplyDeleteI guess you will too.
DeleteLooks good. Got any sauce with it?
ReplyDeleteI did not take the sauce.
DeleteI love jicama rolls but I prefer them with sauce.
ReplyDeletealready very flavourful.
DeleteI like this type of CCF too.. sometimes I order them mixed.. plain and with fillings all in one plate..
ReplyDeletethat would be a lot!
DeleteOh. We called it "chai kueh" (vegetable). Never had this CCF with such filling before. Usually pork or prawns. Hehe.
ReplyDeletewe have chai kueh here too but they are not the same as these chee cheong fun because these ccf are open ended whereas chai kueh has closed ends like sui kow (dumplings).
Deletethis is available in pasar malam I tink...
ReplyDeletelong time i didnot go pasar malam.
DeleteThe fillings look like those for Popiah
ReplyDeletenot as elaborate as those for popiah.
