T2014 Eat before Fly

At TaoYuan airport (Taipei), we bought a set meal from a stall that we have eaten from before in the food court of the department store near our budget inn. You can see the plates having the name of the stall on them in both posts - 小南門.

The set meal consists of a bowl of white bitter gourd soup, a drink, a plate of  water spinach (kangkung) and a plate of rice with minced pork.

    I'd always eat at airports before flying even though food may be served inflight, helps pass the time but can be rather expensive at our airports. I think my favourite here is the all-day breakfast at Coffee Bean at Penang airport - prices reasonable unlike at most food outlets at KLIA.

    I hope to visit Taipei one day... must go with one who knows how to read and talk mandarin cos I know neither! :)

      Goodness! I am shocked that Claire has never visited Taipei. Bring me lah and you will be safe with my Hokkien.

    The kangkung so green and without a hint of sambal, I don't think I can ever get used to the looks of it. I will probably avoid kangkung in Taiwan next time...

      They can put tauchu (fermented bean paste) for the kangkung if you want.

    That is a whole lot of rice. And also very banyak kangkung. Can you finish that? Or this is to be shared?

      This is one portion but we shared it of course since we are small eaters.

    When I had to wait 2-3 hours before flight, I would dig into any airport food to relax as well. You had a delicious meal in Taiwan before flight.

    Taoyuan Airport eat before fly reminds me of last time, my brother and my flight was different timing then he kept on said still have many time to kill so we went for a meal...then who knows when we realized, it was so close that the boarding gate is about to close o.O

      You can order those sets with super big pieces of meat. We prefer more vegetables.
