Local Pastries

Salted egg pastry MYR3.80 nett and kaya puff MYR2.20 nett bought from Esquire Kitchen.

Salted egg yolk wrapped with meat floss wrapped with lotus paste in a crispy pastry = tasty!

Kaya puff - crispy layered pastry with sweet kaya (coconut milk cooked with egg yolks and sugar) fillings.

  2. I love salted egg and I can eat salted egg alone without any bread or even rice to match it.. so i will definitely go for that Salted egg pastry! Cheers!

  3. Have not been to Esquire for a long time now. I'd go for these Asian pastries anytime, over the western ones. Can't remember whether I had these but I did buy some of the things Esquire has to offer.

  5. I like these kind of pastries too, and especially the kaya puff is my favorite.. I don't quite fancy the salted egg puff but I like the "cousin" the century egg puff, haha!!

  7. Hmm, that kaya puff, the skin looks as thick as the kaya filling. I prefer less skin more filling! :D

    1. This filling is very thick already. Those with thin skin has thin filling.

  8. I always find the pastries and meat dumplings very good at Esquire. They may not be the best but they are safe in taste & quality. Yums!

To be honest, I might drop by the restaurant today to buy the kaya puff now. Blame you!!! Wakakaka

  9. Hmm was it good? The very last time I bought a pastry from there, the baking soda wasn't mixed properly and I kept biting into chunks of horrible taste. After that don't dare to buy already.
