Teo Chew Porridge

1pax portion eaten by 2 - total MYR7 nett - good price.

Salted Vegetable - Not that salty but I detect the taste of big intestine (pork) which they also sell here in a separate pot so I guess maybe this salted vegetable is cooked with the water or oil used to cook the intestine.

Pork skin with Pineapple - very appetising.

Braised hard boiled egg with lean pork meat. Sizable portion for 1pax.

There are many other dishes which I did not pick.

Fish dish but I am too lazy to eat fish off its bones so I did not select this.

This is the stall...

...located inside Sun Fatt Kee coffee shop in Seapark, PJ.

  1. Actually I do not mind eating Teo Chew porridge every day. There are so many choices to choose from. MYR7 nett for 2 is cheap.

  3. I like teochew porridge, but that is not because I am a Teochew, hehe.. just like it simple, I can go with just plain porridge with some pickles, or sometimes a bit "luxury" with braised meat, eggs etc.. the pig skin with pineapple you had looks good..

  5. I see you've finally made it to try this place I blogged about. For you to say the salted vege is not that salty means it's not salty for the rest of us...haha! Wah, your taste buds very "geng" wor until you can taste the pork intestines in the salted vege. You must have been eating with someone who has a small appetite like you that you can share a 1 pax portion. And if your spouse was with you, I'm sure he'd want some of those intestines! :D

    1. I am very sensitive to the taste of various parts of the oink oink. We share the 1 pax portion because we just want a taste of the food, not really as a main meal.

  7. Lean meat... haih... There are certain occasions where 100% lean meat is preferable, I'm pretty sure braised pork is not one such occasion. :/

    1. The old man asked me, lean meat or fatty meat and I said lean meat. The fact that he asks me is because I look like someone who eats lean meat, hehehehe! For you, maybe straight away give half fat half lean meat, hahahaha!

  10. Being a Teowchew and I love white porridge!
I just posted comment in Claire's blog that I was sick and wanted to eat porridge at midnight, so I ended up at McD's!
I have never tried this pork skin but I do love crispy ones.

    1. I looked in the spam folder and your initial comment is not there. No idea what happened. Thank you for leaving another comment. There are too many choices here. I think you can keep the cost down by only ordering 3 dishes each time and eat there daily to sample all the dishes they have to offer.

  13. Oh I recognise this place! My family and I have been coming to this same Teochew porridge stall for many, many years. I like the salted vegetables, spicy clams and their assam fish (I think it's the one you didn't try haha)
