Set lunch - Assam Laksa and Iced Peach Tea (No other choices for the free drink) - MYR13.90 nett. Two of us shared this set lunch as we wanted to eat at another place after this meal. The assam laksa is not too spicy so just right for me with lots of shredded onions, cucumbers and pineapples.
There is an option to add a small bowl of hot dessert for MYR1.99 nett - either Bubur Cha Cha (a sweet soup of sweet potatoes, yam, sago, coconut milk), Herbal Treasure Soup, or Pulut Hitam with Tong Yuen (black glutinous rice with glutinous rice balls). We chose Pulut Hitam with Tong Yuen (one with peanut fillings and the other with sesame fillings).
Please click on the menu above to view the other set lunch meals. We should have ordered its signature dish ala carte - Nasi Ulam Ayam Percik with keropok lekor and salted egg (Raw vegetables rice with percik chicken, deep fried fish chips) - MYR20.90 nett. Maybe next time.
The prices stated are nett prices inclusive of 6% GST and 5% service charge so our meal costs MYR15.90 nett.
Nice decor
Custom made
Colourful eatery at The Mines, also found in Midvalley Mall, IOI City Mall, KL and Gurney Paragon, Penang.
See the plates (piring) hanging on the wall.
What a coincidence! The name of my girl's jungle school. I always said - sepiring, not sepinggan or secawan. LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI sure would love to check this place out - never tried nasi ulam before, none here...or not that I know of.
Sepiring is the name of the area/place then? I think there should be nasi ulam being sold in Ramadan Bazaar.
DeleteLove love love your pulut hitam with tong yuen, but I still prefer red bean with tong yuen.. I always boil my red bean with EXTRA and LOADS of red bean.. More beans, less liquid, yummzzzz...
ReplyDeleteI like to eat red bean tong sui with more beans than liquid too!
Deleteoh looks good, I mean both the asam laksa and the black glutinous with glutinous rice balls, both are among my favorite desserts.. and I also like those "canned food" on the wall, very nice leh~~
ReplyDeleteI know you would appreciate wall decors like that because you are artistic!
DeleteThe place may be called Sepiring....but the food you ordered came in Semangkuk! :D If I had a choice for the hot dessert, bubur cha cha would always be my first pick.
ReplyDeleteHahaha you can open an eatery called semangkuk then! :D do you cook bubur cha cha at home? My mom used to.
DeleteNope, I've never tried making any at home coz I'm afraid I'd end up cooking too much and then can't control myself and end up eating too much! :D
DeleteCooking at home cause overeating.very true.
DeleteThe decor is so colorful! If I eat here it will be dua piring or more :D
ReplyDeleteOne signature nasi ulam ayam percik keropok lekor telur masin should be enough for you! ;p
DeleteI read those words on the menu and felt quite weird. They say "...Malaysians love sharing meals from sepiring", yet their items are all set meal kind of thing, which really discourages sharing under normal circumstances.
ReplyDeleteThe sharing refers to their ala carte menu where the portion is a lot.
DeleteCool! You eat out quite a lot eh?
ReplyDeleteI like the names - Sepiring and Cantin, very witty and yet homely. They seem to have a range of food from different cultures and I thought the place looks a little like a burger joint from the facade at first.
I don't cook at home at all so eat out for all meals.
DeleteI would order that set too, Assam Laksa and Pulut Hitam with tong yuen! Love the decor and the place looks very comfortable.
ReplyDeleteThe decor sure is colourful and pretty.
DeleteI love the plates wall. Nice decor this place has.
ReplyDeleteOoohh. Assam laksa looked good. Wow! 2nd round after this???
A few hours after this. Decor is nice and colourful.
DeleteHaven't seen this chain yet, though it'd probably come to my area soon! Food looks all right. Though I can't tell the serving size from your pictures.
ReplyDeleteIt is new!
