There are a few stalls serving food in this area, along the walkway of some shops which have not opened in the early morning yet.
On another visit, we ordered a bowl of fish slices with meehoon in clear noodle soup with lots of ginger in the soup for only MYR7 with many slices of fish meat (Sang Yu aka haruan aka snakehead fish - not dory). Delicious! This bowl would be more than MYR10++ elsewhere.
Maggi Mee Goreng (Stir fried instant noodle) - MYR2.50 nett
Guess we could still find affordable food if we are not picky about the ambiance.
eih that mamak is cheap leh!! is this even in KL itself?? most of the roti telur are like RM2 a piece, teh tarik like RM1.50 and maggie goreng like RM4.50 in many places.. if the food is nice, I don't bother about the ambiance too!! and for this, the price is right too!!
ReplyDeleteYes, this is KL postcode. :) Food taste quite good too.
DeleteI tend to avoid such places unless the weather is cool. Would look for places with fans and plonk myself underneath or beside one. Don't mind buying to take home to eat if there's anything nice, but no, I would not eat there. I am not all that fond of air-conditioned places either...especially those on full-blast, making the food go cold so quickly, not nice.
ReplyDeleteMust eat at this place very early in the morning like 7am so it will not be hot.
DeleteLong time no eat roti planta already.. Your first picture reminds me of it, and I want to have it one of these days..
ReplyDeleteI have never eaten roti planta before come to think of it.
DeleteHi Mun, I wouldn't mind eating under the shady trees by the road side but not when the weather is really hot. We still have places like this in Ipoh too! I prefer my roti plain and crispy. Once in a while I will eat roti telur or roti sardine. Roadside stalls charges are usually cheaper than the shops.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the lowest price you can find for roti telur in Ipoh?
DeleteRM2.50 that is rally cheap, yea! Don't picky, we can anything, like me anything also can, hehe!
ReplyDeleteI think you just eat to live only and never live to eat.
DeleteGlad to see, in this day and age, there are still some things that are affordable......mostly in mamak shops though.
ReplyDeleteGot to look for them.
DeleteVery very cheap!!! Sometimes the best food could be found in least expected place. I do not mind eating here but over in Kuching, hard to find such stalls. Mostly move to hawker centres as per council's demand.
ReplyDeleteThe prices in hawker centres - are they high?
DeleteThat's a steal at RM4 and I don't mind sitting under the trees. With rising cost, we should seek out these type of no frills makan places.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to save, this is the way or cook at home.
DeleteCook at home also must use affordable ingredients and not those expensive ingredients.
DeleteI AM sitting under trees for lunch on a regular basis, you know... There's still quite a bit of such eateries in Penang.
ReplyDeleteI think people can sell food at a cheaper price, if they really want to. I guess it depends on their target customers. Maybe this place is surrounded by low cost housings so if they sell expensive, they won't get business?
You have a point here. I thought you eat lunch in the company's canteen? That's not under trees, right?
DeleteSometimes I do go out for lunch also lah. Next time I take photos and blog when I eat under a tree. ;)
DeleteYes, do take photos and write about it please. :)
DeleteWhooaa!!! I like this kinda places to eat. I strained my eyes so long to guess this very familiar place. The plants growing on the tree is the reminder but I am still blurr.
ReplyDeleteJust translate golden dragon garden into BM and you may know the place.
DeleteSpotted bittergourd in the fish soup! My favourite, dear! xoxo
ReplyDeleteOops, I can't remember.
DeleteYou have sharp eyes, my spouse confirmed that there is bittergourd in the fish mihun soup.
DeleteBest would be tapau and eat in comfort at home!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, that's a great idea. :)
