Big Shrimp Glass Noodles

On Wednesday 27.nov.2024, went to eat at 3 eateries that we haven't been to previously:

1. 824 Ming Hin Bukit Jalil

*** Nong Geng Ji ***

Nong Geng Ji serves Hunan cuisine which is well known for its fragrant spicy chili and spicy chili oil.

I wanted to eat the non spicy big prawns vermicelli when I saw the menu at their TRX branch. Now it has opened a new branch at pavilion Bukit Jalil and there is an opening promo of 30% off main dishes so I took the opportunity to try this dish at this new branch.

11.50 am - this big prawn vermicelli dish MYR 52++ is cooked at the table so this photo is captured after the staff turned the vermicelli over to cover the big prawns.

11.42 am - the pot with the raw big prawns and vermicelli is cooked for about 7 mins at the table. When the timer starts to beep, need to request the staff to turned the vermicelli to cover the cooked prawns. There are a lot of raw minced garlic placed on top of the raw prawns so this dish has a strong garlic taste.

11.44 am - stir fried beef slices with Tea Oil MYR 75++ I selected the non spicy version. We ate some slices of beef and then took the remaining home.

11.44 am - size comparison 

The red drink is iced white peach oolong tea MYR 13.90++ with no discount. It is sweet. I ordered it because I may need a drink if the dishes are spicy.

11.48 am - the raw prawns are starting to be cooked.

11.50 am - ready to be eaten. 

11.52 am - there are 8 big prawns so 4 each for us 2. They are fresh and firm so very tasty 😋 

12 noon - spicy marinated pork trotters MYR 62++ and a bowl of rice MYR 3++ with no discount which we took home.

12.01 noon - close up of the pieces of pork trotters. Not that spicy. Gooey and tasty 😋 

12.14 noon - we ate some pieces and took some pieces home leaving the garlic, oil and red chili in the bowl.

12.29 noon - after discount total is MYR 173.07 nett.

12.27 noon - shop front. This shop is located right in front of the entrance of the food merchant supermarket.

*** His Dinner ***

5.45 pm - he cooked half portion of the rice we brought home with one egg and the remaining pieces of pork trotters to eat for his dinner.

*** Ming Hin Bukit Jalil ***

E-Jia Kopitiam is closed on Wednesday so we went to Ming Hin eatery which is in the same area.

8.25 am - he ordered 3jc soup which I helped him by eating his remaining hor fun mihun. Promo: the 4 soft boiled eggs are foc between 8 am to 10 am on weekdays. So he ate all 4 eggs as I am afraid of eating soft boiled eggs due to the strong eggy taste.

8.32 am - my portion of his remaining noodles with green pickled chillies

8.37 am - we shared this luncheon meat egg toast and hot cham.

9.04 am - shop front Ming Hin Bukit Jalil. After this meal, we went for morning coffee and desserts Cromboloni, strawberry tart at nearby Bakery by Mel to wait till 10 am for pavilion Bukit Jalil to open. Luckily Bake by Mel opens at 9 am. Photos will be posted tomorrow. 😊
