Daejanggum

Dosirak (Korean packed lunchbox) Set (deep fried shrimps) - about MYR14.90 and I gave half my rice and 1 shrimp to my friend. It  is a well-rounded meal with rice, vegetables, shrimps, soup and tea.

Ordered it because Item 1 caught my eyes.

My friends ordered main meals so we get 6 refillable Banchans. All of us like the vegetables coated with eggs and deep fried (top right).

This eatery occupies an upstairs shop unit and is located near Digital Mall, PJ (same row).

  1. There are increasing number of Korean restaurants in the country. Daejanggum is just next to my office but I have not been there yet, they usually cater for Korean tourists here. I like those vegetables.

  3. I also like the top right vegetables coated with eggs and deep fried plus the kimchi, for Korean food, I like kimchi and their kimchi pork, slurps

  4. Lovely sets and that's cheap! Here, it's all a la carte and each dish one orders can be quite pricey. Dinner for 3 at any Korean place here will go up to over RM100. :(

  5. This is the first time seeing Korean food served inside Bento boxes like Japanese styled. My wife and I often ate banchans and got them to refill many times until they rugi. So paiseh.

  6. The set looks Japanese!

Banchans are the fun part. The ones here are mostly veg... guess to keep costs down.

    1. lucky for me, my friend is willing to take half of my rice else I will feel bad for leaving my rice uneaten or I would force myself to eat and stuff my face.
