Wellness Recipe

So we were back at 10 Boulevard to eat at Chef Low Organic Kitchen but it was closed so we walked around and decided to try this eatery named "Wellness Recipe".

I ordered black rice with cashew nut curry at MYR16.80+ (5% service charge so the nett price is MYR17.65). The black rice tastes like black glutinous rice. I kept half the rice and curry for dinner. I also ordered a cold drink - Beta Beet Lemon at MYR5.90+ (MYR6.20 nett).  The drink is slightly sweet and refreshing.

My friend ordered herbal soup with brown rice (vegetarian meal) at MYR12.80+ (MYR13.45 nett). Her drink is Honey Lemon Chia Seeds (hot) at MYR7.90+ (MYR8.30 nett). She said that the food is tasty.

A closer look at the curry dish. There are no cashew nuts in this curry so I suspect the cashew nuts were used to make the curry gravy as it was thick and creamy. There are lots of brinjals and long beans in this curry which I like. I did not expect there to be three large pieces of chicken meat so I just ate one piece and took the other two pieces home for my spouse to eat.

A closer look at the herbal soup. This is a vegetarian meal so there is no meat in the soup. I did not taste this soup but I can see that there are a few types of mushrooms and bean curds in it.

Total price for 2 pax is MYR45.55 nett which is a good price for so much food and drinks. I wouldn't mind eating at this place again.

  2. Like black glutinous rice. I'd love it then! Pulut hitam dessert is one of my favourites. Curry looks really good.

  3. The black rice inspired by nasi kunyit perhaps?

Your friend's meal looks like BKT.

    3. ah thanks for the correction though I have eaten nasi kunyit made from basmati rice. My point is the yellow colour of nasi kunyit is from turmeric but the black colour of this black rice is natural from the black rice itself and not from another source like squid ink.

  5. In Thailand they do eat white, black and other coloured glutinous rice daily esp the Northern areas near Golden Triangle and Yunnan where they live in mountainous highlands and rarely cook daily besides having no refrigerators. So their cooked glutinous rice could safely last for many-many days! This food has made its way to our tables today. Interesting!

  8. The black rice looks interesting. The other portion of the curry with so much ingredients will be enough for dinner even for 2 people.
