Tong Sui in Cantonese literally means Sweet Water. Red bean and barley in evaporated milk - MYR4.80 - my friend did not quite like this.
White Fungus and Lotus Seed - MYR4.80 - both white fungus and lotus seeds are hard. Not going to eat at this random restaurant in Berjaya Times Square again.
I know a lot of people who love these - I'm ok with them. Will not go out of my way to enjoy them. Cooling, great for health too.
ReplyDeleteYou mean tong sui in general and not just these two?
DeleteI've never eaten red bean+barley in evaporated milk.. Hung dao+yi mai in sang lai? Hmmm.. Weird combination but maybe some will like it.. I still prefer my plain red bean in santan, hehe..
ReplyDeleteI like evaporated milk in red bean soup instead.
DeleteEvaporated milk? Eeekkss.... Coconut milk would have been better.
ReplyDeleteThe thing is this is just the milk alone with red beans and barley, not milk with red bean soup.
DeleteRed bean in evaporated milk.. I think the owner desperate to create something "unique"..
ReplyDeleteI guess you are right.
DeleteThe only tong sui I like are those unhealthy ones.....the ones with coconut milk! XD
ReplyDeleteI think all very sweet tong sui are on the not so healthy side.
DeleteIf it is soya bean then it would be great! :) I love tongsui too...
ReplyDeleteBetter I guess.
DeleteI love tong sui!! As long as they are not too sweet. ;)
ReplyDeleteMe too. :)
DeleteI'm still not so accustomed to having beans and veggies in desserts.
ReplyDeleteYou don't find them nice?
DeleteI usually cook my own tong sui, I love tong sui. The tong sui I cook is less sugar one.
ReplyDeleteI like less sugar tong sui.
