Sun Sea OUG

On Wednesday 14.sep.2022, stayed at home whole day and ordered one Foodpanda delivery for both lunch and dinner.

*** Kai Dan Go ***

He wanted to buy the traditional Kai Dan Go aka egg sponge cake from Sun Sea coffee shop in OUG so we went there on Fri 9.sep.2022 and I bought all 4 products from the stall.

One egg sponge cake MYR 2.40 in the round container.

3 pork pastries MYR 2.50 each.

2 Lou por pastries MYR 2.40 each.

1 kaya swiss roll MYR 8.50 per roll.

The kaya swiss roll has a fine cake texture and fragrant kaya but the kaya tastes different from the kaya swiss roll in KL center. Both kaya rolls taste good to me. He says the kaya roll tastes nicer than his Kai Dan Go though the egg sponge cake's taste is acceptable too.

Only 4 products.

The pastries are baked onsite. You can see the two trays of Kai Dan Go inside the glass display unit.

Total price for 7 items is MYR 23.20 and they accept e-payment paid to OUG Traditional Confectionery.

I seldom buy lo por pastry but since I am buying all 4 products, I bought a prepacked bag of two pieces.

Cross section. Flaky layers of pastry skin with sweet gooey fillings in between the layers. No distinct outstanding taste.

Since already at this Sun Sea coffee shop, just have to buy a pack of the popular seafood pork noodles which is supposed to be operated by the same party as Hong Cha seafood pork noodles OUG. I added prawns to it so the price is MYR 21 for a default of 10 prawns. Taste good. My weak teeth need to put in more work for the intestines and squid.

Total price inclusive of delivery fees is MYR 17.40 which I find is a reasonable price.

On Tuesday 13.sep.2022, went to Golden Chopsticks to buy chapfan lunch for the Elderlies.

*** Double Beef Patties Burger ***

2.40 pm - Double Beef Patties Cheese Burger. The top beef patty has slide down from bottom beef patty.

I kept one beef patty for the next day.

2.48 pm - ate the burger with one beef patty with one slice of rainbow 8 grains bread and one raw red tomato. The raw tomato gives a refreshing taste to the flavourful burger. 

The beef patty is thick and made of coarsely chopped beef. It is tasty and not oily at all.

PestaPanda promocode for 50% off max MYR 27 so it means MYR 13.50 off making the total cost, about MYR 18.15 nett.

Foodpanda has only these 3 types of beef burgers in their menu. The extracted menu above is from Marshall's Burger own delivery website. 

I selected double beef patties burger by elimination process as I don't want the beef burger with a sunny side up egg and I don't want the burger with deep fried streaky beef.

12.38 noon - I only realize that this burger brand is affiliated with this pizza brand when I received the burgers in the pizza branded Plastic bag.

12 noon - he bought 3 packs of chapfan MYR 22.50 lunch for the Elderlies and himself from Golden Chopsticks coffee shop.

My container of broccoli and 2 braised eggs cost MYR 8 from 126 Kopitiam coffee shop.

6 pm - he ate the remaining bkt soup with the remaining soft ribs, mushrooms and siew bok choy with mamee instant noodles. I helped with the mushrooms and siew bok choy.

Le Deli Sri Petaling

On Monday 12.sep.2022, went to Swee Hing to buy lunch and Le Deli to buy raw soft ribs to cook in the remaining bkt soup from the previous day.

Bought one pack of Frozen Master Wei pork celery dumplings to try at MYR 9.90 to compare against the frozen dumplings we used to buy from Jaya Grocer, Midvalley Mall.

Canned button mushrooms Suncity Brand MYR 3.80 to add to the bkt soup.

The mushrooms are bigger than the usual canned button mushrooms and they are whole mushrooms. He cut it one by one into halves before putting them into the bkt soup. Lolx! 😅

Raw soft ribs at MYR 54.90 per kg to add to the remaining bkt soup. Very neatly arranged and looks clean.

Total price is MYR 28.20 for 3 items.

He wanted pan Mee for lunch but the pan Mee stall is closed so bought mihun kway teow pork soup MYR 8 and he fried two eggs, one each for our lunch.

Fei Guat BKT

On Sunday 11.sep.2022, went to Sri Petaling at 3 pm to pick up some prepaid food and drop by Sun Fung BKT to buy fei guat aka fat ribs since the previous trip, the seller says need to wait for 35 to 40 minutes. This time, he also says must wait 35 to 40 minutes for the fei guat to be cooked so we waited.

Fei Guat aka Fat Ribs BKT soup.  There are only 3 big chunks of Fei Guat aka Fat Ribs in the BKT soup.

Walk in price for 3 food items. A mixed bkt soup with meat, intestines, stomach, mushrooms and napa cabbages costs MYR 21 and fei guat bkt soup with only 3 fei guat costs MYR 17 so Fei Guat costs about MYR 5 to 6 per piece.

On Saturday 10.sep.2022, went to Hiong Mei chapfan eatery to buy lunch for the Elderlies but it was closed due to mooncake festival I guess. So went to 126 Kopitiam to buy chapfan lunch since Golden Chopsticks coffee shop is also closed due to the festival. Walked into Farmer Grocer near Hiong Mei to buy daikon to boil with the remaining beef soup from Yang Kee bought the previous day but couldn't find any. Must be all sold out.

*** Mrs Wife Mart Sri Petaling ***

When he was buying chapfan lunch for the Elderlies at 126 Kopitiam coffee shop, I walked around the area and found this Mrs Wife Mart grocer and they have daikon so I bought 5 ripe Berangan bananas at MYR 6 per kg which will last us for 3 days.

Bought two fat daikons at MYR 9 per kg. Those who love gardening can grow their own daikon like Nancy:

Growing daikon will give a sense of achievement when eating the daikon.

Peel off all the skin.

Cut and put into a pot with the remaining beef soup from Yang Kee eatery.

Boil for 15 to 30 minutes.

Bought a pack of peanuts MYR 1 from Speedmart and one double salted yolk lotus mooncake MYR 13 from 126 Kopitiam. Wanted red bean mooncakes but they were sold out.

Gardenia wholemeal bread loaves are sold out in speedmart and KK mart. Luckily found them in 7-11 else the Elderlies won't have their favourite bread.

The 4 words double yolk lotus are carved into the mooncake mould.

Cross Section. Taste is acceptable.

He bought 3 packs of chapfan MYR 24 for himself and the Elderlies.

*** Eating Remaining Food ***

I have to clear food from the fridge. McD Fish filler burger without tartar sauce bought on Thursday. I like it. Next time no more tartar sauce forever.

Lai Fun from Niu Niu eatery bought on Friday which he ate on Friday itself and kept the above remaining portion for me.

This is the MYR 1 peanuts from Speedmart for the beef Lai fun because they no longer put peanuts for the beef Lai fun when they used to do so.

Ate the niu niu beef Lai fun with add ons - peanuts and daikon. Taste better with the add-ons.

He helped me eat the beef daikon noodles from Yang Kee bought on Friday.

E5 Big Mac No Sauce

On Friday 9.sep.22, went to Sun Sea coffee shop in OUG to buy egg cakes aka Kai Dan Go so bought food from the shops nearby as well.

*** McD Delivery Thu 8.sep.22 ***

Ate this Big Mac without sauce the next day on Fri 9.sep.22 and found that without sauce, the cheese taste goes well with the beef patty so will continue to buy Big Mac without sauce next time.

Chocolate cake which is very chocolaty so it is delicious because I like the taste of chocolate.

4.26 pm - received the nicely packed for delivery food.

I just wanted the big Mac and him, the nasi lemak so I think I overbought so will be eating these food for a few days.

On Thursday 8.sep.22, went to buy chapfan lunch for the Elderlies and ourselves.

This is the stall at 126 Kopitiam coffee shop, Sri Petaling where I bought a small pack of Mee Jawa MYR 7.50 for my omad.

5 pm - ate the Mee Jawa directly from the plastic bags. The gravy is just a tiny bit spicy so it is ok for me. It has:

1. Half a boiled egg

2. Prawn fritters

3. Tofu

4. Potatoes

5. Beansprouts

6. Yellow noodles 

Luckily the yellow noodles are not a lot so I could finish eating the whole portion of Mee Jawa by myself but there is still a lot of gravy remaining.

He bought 3 packs of chapfan lunch MYR 24 from Golden Chopsticks coffee shop. He suspects that the price of chapfan has increased because he took the same dishes and amount as he has taken before but the price is a bit higher now.

I bought yinchoy aka amaranth greens and two braised eggs from the chapfan stall at 126 Kopitiam coffee shop. As I took less yin choy this time, the price is MYR 6 instead of MYR 7 previously.

For the Elderlies, also bought from speedmart:

1. Gardenia wholemeal bread. The price has increased to MYR 4 from MYR 3.60 but speedmart gives a 20 cents discount so the price at speedmart is MYR 3.80 now.

2. Milo 1 kg refill pack at MYR 17.50 because the Elderlies drink Milo everyday.
