Three Scoops

After two visits to this eatery in within 1 week after reading PH's post, we went back again for their lunch sets (MYR15.90 nett) as parking at this mall is very affordable at MYR1 nett for 3 hours of parking and there are many vacant parking lots available. This time, I did not feel like eating pasta so I ordered the crispy fish meal although it is stated on the menu that it is dory fish because I wanted to give it a chance to prove itself.

Soup of the day was a yellow coloured soup which I think is corn chicken soup after tasting it. As for the drinks included, it was hot green tea for me again.

There were two pieces of deep fried breaded fish. It was more on the salty side and the texture was not flaky, was a bit slippery smooth, looked almost translucent. I let both my friends have some and they say it is nice but to me this fish is just borderline acceptable although I finished eating both pieces.

Both my friends were abstaining from cold food so I get to eat their ice cream like before.

My friend paid an additional MYR4 nett for an upsize to her pasta value set lunch and then found the portion a bit too big for her so unless one is a big eater, better stick with the set lunch small portion. Let's see when we will be here for lunch again.

Hoshino Coffee

On 3 Jul 2017, it was announced that Tim Ho Wan (one of my favourite eatery) will exit from this country and Hoshino Coffee from Japan is now in its place in Midvalley/Gardens Mall.

Strawberry French Toast - MYR 19.90+ (10% service charge = MYR 21.90 nett). The whipped cream is not that heavy so it was not cloying. Not the best but acceptable as it was not too sweet and due to the fact that I cannot resist strawberries.

Fruit Tea (Hot) = MYR 17.90+ (MYR 19.70 nett). They are famous for their coffee but both of us did not order any.

We checked/ticked 3 items in the order chit but they left out 1 item when keying in our order into their system and we did not check the bill until after half an hour so we had to wait for another 15 mins for the pasta dish. 

Chicken Cacciatora Spaghetti - MYR 23.90+ (MYR 26.30 nett). Quite a big portion so I ate a few bites from my friend's dish. The pasta is al dente. Taken from wiki: "Cacciatore means "hunter" in Italian. In cuisine, alla cacciatora refers to a meal prepared "hunter-style" with onions, herbs, usually tomatoes, often bell peppers, and sometimes wine".

Total bill for two pax.

A place to unwind and relax.

During lunch time there was a queue. I waited for a while but was allowed to go in (jump queue) as there was a two-pax table available and the people in front of me in the queue are all in groups of more than 2 pax. We may be back to try the other dishes and the coffee.

The wooden cabin looks so authentic but it is not a real cabin so no visitors are allowed into it.

Avenue K has a UK theme too (similar to Midvalley Mall)

Florentine

My order - Fish and Chips at MYR 19 nett. I am not sure what fish it was but it was definitely not dory so it was acceptable.

Prawn Pasta at MYR 20 nett. My friend said it was tasty.

Chicken Bolognese Pasta at MYR 17 nett.

Crispy biscuits

My friend gave me this pack of biscuits from Korea.

It is very buttery and creamy.

Very thin too so have to handle with care or else it will crumble before reaching the mouth.

Only for its Coffee

My set lunch: Chicken and scrambled eggs with cilantro lime rice at MYR 16.95 nett with a cup of hot tea and a small glass of lemon infused drinking water. The rice has a bit of an off smell in certain parts and we did feed back to the cafe only to be told that it could be the smell of cilantro which I personally do not think so because to me, cilantro does not smell like that. Nevertheless I ate the rice because it is just a bit of off-smell and I do not want to waste it. I have to say that so far the rice did not do me any harm as far as I can tell.  

Set Lunch - Chicken Chop at MYR 16.95 nett. The chicken chop seemed to be sitting in oil so my friend asked for another plate and moved the chicken there in an attempt to shake the oil off the chicken chop.

Set Lunch for Two - Sriracha Chicken Pasta with mushrooms and eggs at MYR 32.85 nett. My friends like the taste of this pasta and the coffee served here. They ordered two cups of Flat White coffee instead of having the set lunch hot tea so the cafe deducted MYR 2 nett each for the two cups of hot tea that were included in this set lunch.

Prawn Noodle King

I heard about this new Prawn Noodle Eatery from Penang in OUG so I went to have a try. Original Prawn Noodle at MYR 6.90+ (5% service charge = MYR 7.25 nett). The broth is very tasty and I did not feel thirsty after drinking it.

Prawn Noodle with Mantis Prawn - MYR 18.90+ (MYR 19.85 nett). The mantis prawn caused the broth to be sweeter.
