Char Kway Teow

On Monday 14.jul.2025, I suggested that we go to Swee Hing coffee shop for food because it has been quite some time that I didn't eat char kway teow.

*** Swee Hing coffee shop ***

10.57 am - char kway teow with duck egg and mixed with yellow noodles. Around MYR 13 and a bit on the salty side.

10.54 am - he ordered siew yuk and steamed chicken MYR 20 nett.
The cold cham C kosong drink, hot cham less sweet and 2 soft boiled eggs cost MYR 9.10 nett.
At home, I ate one small red apple.

Next morning ??.??

*** His early dinner ***

2.42 pm - he remembers that he has remaining ready to eat naan in the fridge so he bought takeaway onion chili chicken thigh MYR 7+ and cabbage MYR 3+ and ate them with one piece of cold naan. I didn't eat anything from his early dinner.

  1. Fascinating post, I learn so much, thank you, Mun! I have never tried duck eggs before. I have eaten duck, though...such as in a duck leg, it is very good. I believe that duck eggs are sold here in Montreal as well as quail eggs, turkey eggs and goose eggs, but I have only tried chicken eggs.
    If you can tell me what duck eggs are like...as far as the taste, size and consistency, I would very much appreciate it, thank you so much!
