On Saturday 12.april.2025, we went to a cafe named Slofee in Taman Segar, Cheras that he read about online. Slofee is Sloths + Coffee
*** Slofee Cafe ***
10.52 am - triple matcha cake MYR 18+ tastes of authentic matcha, just slightly sweet so is tasty 😋 the iced long black MYR 6+ is part of a combo set with the pork soup noodles.
10.41 am - signature pork noodles in soup MYR 12+
10.51 am - my share. The soup is light and not those heavy pork soup. Overall is acceptable. The ice long black is nice with a refreshing taste.
Triple matcha cake: 3 layers: matcha cream, matcha ganache and matcha gateau.
11.09 am - place order and pay at this counter. Can you spot the sloth 🦥?
11.10 am - it is located on floor 1.
10.28 am - entrance to the stairs to go up to Slofee Cafe. While in Slofee, he searched online for food in the vicinity and found Auntie Lora so we walked there to have our 2nd meal.
*** Auntie Lora Prawn noodles ***
11.21 am - assam laksa with lai fun MYR 11.90 nett, prawn mee with mihun and yellow noodles MYR 11.90 nett. A glass of ice cham drink MYR 4.20 nett. Total MYR 28 nett for 2 pax.
I prefer the prawns soup because it tastes full of spices yet is not spicy. The assam laksa is spicy so I put the remaining Lai fun noodles into the prawns soup to wash away the spiciness and I ate all the remaining noodles.
*** Icon Brewings Cafe ***
I saw this cafe when walking to Slofee from our car so I wanted to try their coffee.
12.39 noon - I ordered all the items in this cafe. A salad with balsamic vinegar MYR 14.90++ and added in the 3 prawns MYR 10++
Iced long black coffee MYR 12++
Iced coffee lemonade MYR 16++ which is sweet
Chocolate hazelnut cronest MYR 6++
12.45 noon - my portion. The prawns are fresh and taste tender nice.
12.37 noon - this cronest tastes very nice with a light cheese custard fillings in a crispy croissant pastry casing.
2.24 pm - I bought peach mochi strudel MYR 18++ takeaway add MYR 1++ for the box. The length of the strudel is about 9 cm so it is not big. The mochi is the fillings in between the two pieces of crispy pastries.
12.29 noon - total MYR 88.45 nett.
12.28 noon - this cafe shares a shop lot with a hair salon which is located at the inner portion of the space separated by glass partition walls.

3.09 pm - we ate all the slices of peach with blueberries. I then ate a bit of the pastries and fillings before putting it into the freezer.

I like to drink matcha but don't appreciate it when made into desserts. The cake looked very green and did it have a strong matcha taste?
ReplyDeleteThe matcha taste in the cake is just right, authentic, not too strong. The green is also authentic because I bought a packet of Uji matcha powder imported from Japan made in Uji and the colour is exactly the top layer of the cake which is deep green. When made into matcha drinks, the green is the green in the body of the cake. I have eaten many commercial budget matcha cakes which use artificial matcha flavorings which is a vast difference.
