Tablespoon moon cakes

On Tuesday 17.sep.2024, I say I will not buy moon cakes this year but today I read about 仪式感Yíshì gǎn which means Sense of ceremony aka Sense of ritual so I went to buy one pack of 5 mini red bean moon cakes MYR 3.50 nett 🌝

中秋节快乐 everyone! 🌝

When young, we used to put a table in the garden and put mini yams, water caltrops that look like horns, mooncakes, pomelos on the table and eat the food sitting in the full moonlight. When younger, we used to walk around the housing Taman with lanterns. Now we don't do anything.

  1. Those yesteryears of playing lanterns and eating mooncakes, sometimes watching Chinese movie together on tv with family during mid autumn festival are long gone. Now it is just another ordinary day.

    1. Ya now because there are no children in the family so no celebration.

    2. not just the children...Last time the elderly will sit outside (at garden or car porch) after dinner to enjoy the full moon and watching children play or just chat with the neighbors. Nowadays, everyone just stay indoors and sent greetings via whatsapp.

  2. The mini mooncake is so cute! It is ideal, just eat one and be done with it LOL! I remember those years as a child, me and the neighborhood kids would walk around with lanterns. I wonder if kids of today do this. Nowadays, I also like to eat dinner early especially weekends.

    1. Yes the children still walk around gated guarded communities such as condos with their lanterns as the residents association will organise the celebrations.
