9 refillable side dishes (banchan) - crispy dry seaweed, kimchi, very tender okra, pickled tunghoon, "wet" seaweed, kimchi cucumber, sweet salty crispy anchovies and peanuts, very tender lotus roots and marinated pork - all of which are very appetising because they are sweet, sourish, some are spicy and slightly salty.
Gal Bi Tang (Beef ribs soup) with rice - MYR30++ (MYR35 nett). The beef are very tender in clear soup with no other spices to cover the pure taste of beef. Some people may find this soup bland and the beef taste too much to take but I like it although the soup is too much for me to finish it by myself. There are some glass noodles (tunghoon) in the soup too.
Close up view of the beef
Kimchi Ji Gae (Kimchi vegetable tofu soup) with rice - MYR25++ (MYR29.15 nett). The bowl is filled with various vegetables, tunghoon and tofu. The broth is not very spicy. It is sweet and sourish.
Dol Sot Bi Bim Bab (Hot stone pot Bi Bim Bab) - MYR20++ (MYR23.30 nett). Bi Bim Bab means mixed rice where plain rice is served with various vegetables on top. Sometimes there is a raw egg too and everything is mixed together with a sauce provided before eating. We were given a saucer of red sweetish fermented soybean paste/sauce for this Bi Bim Bab but we did not mix that together with the rice because we don't want the taste to be too heavy.
After mixing everything, the raw egg was cooked due to the hot stone pot.
Sam Gae Tang (Ginseng Chicken Soup) - MYR39++ (MYR45.45 nett). I like this dish best due to the soft glutinous rice inside the chicken. Very tasty!
There is a whole small chicken and one small ginseng in this clear broth. Again, some people may find this broth bland but it is so that the taste of chicken can be tasted clearly in this broth.
We did not order any drinks because a jug of cold water was provided foc and towards the end of our meal, each of us were served with a cup of cold ginger sweet drink (foc) which is very refreshing. The customer at the next table even asked if they sell this drink as takeaways because they like it so much.
Interior - full house when we were there for lunch on a Saturday.
Total Bill is MYR132.90 nett (about MYR33.23 nett per person).
Seoul Korea BBQ at Taman Desa
It is located on the 1st floor.
For Korean Food, I like their Kimchi Pork which is very tasty.
ReplyDeleteFor Bi Bim Bab, I find the sauce for the rice too sweet for my liking.
That's why for Bi Bim Bab, we did not put in the sauce at all.
