Braised Yellow Croaker with Rice - MYR49.90++ (MYR59.20 nett). Yellow Croaker is a fish with very tender meat which makes it very tasty.
Default appetisers that cost MYR3++ (MYR3.50 nett) each. Pickled jicama that tastes like the jicama slices have been marinated in orange cordial. Some kind of beans that have been braised.
Fish soup with fresh fish slices (definitely not those frozen dory) XS portion - MYR24.90++ (MYR29 nett). XS means extra small portion but still enough for 2 pax. There is no milk in this soup, the soup is white due to the fish.
Total Bill is MYR94.20 nett. The two dishes that we had have a light taste so they suit me a lot.

At first glance I thought they added milk in the fish soup.
ReplyDeleteno milk.
DeleteI wonder what Heng Hua bihun is like - we have here, fried with cangkuk manis and canned clams in soy sauce but my Heng Hua relatives said no, their is not like that. What are croakers? Frogs? Eyewwww...no, thank you. :D
ReplyDeleteah you missed it! it is mentioned in my post above that croakers are a type of fish with tender meat.
DeleteI like this place! I've not tried the two dishes here, but probably won't since we like to order many small dishes. Would be full already just having those two.
ReplyDeleteyou go here often?
DeleteNot so often but regular enough.
Deleteoic. maybe next time i see you there during Sun.
DeleteWhat is yellow croaker? If it is a fish, then I will eat but if it is a frog, then its "no, thank you." The fish soup looks good.
ReplyDeleteah, you missed it too like stp. it is written above that it is a type of fish with tender meat.

DeleteI actually thought the croaker was frog LOL! I have seen this Putien at 1-U but have not paid a visit as yet.
ReplyDeletei think you will like the signature dishes there. go try?
DeleteI have eaten at this place several times but the very long wait often frightened me off. The food there is always very good and deliciously prepared by experienced chefs. You can buy Croaker Fishes at the wet market which is known as Ikan Gelama, if not mistaken.
ReplyDeleteafter lunch time the wait was not long. wah you are so well versed with the name of fishes.
Deletenever heard of croaker fish...but ikan gelama yes...
ReplyDeletewah you are good with names of fishes in bm too.
DeleteFish is not my favourite meat but for health reasons, I am eating more fish nowadays
