One Utama CNY decor

I was there very early. The roller shutters securing the decor area were just being rolled up.

Many red, red lanterns hanging from many arch frames with a flowery (sakura flowers?) walkway in the middle leading up to a stage. Can't go wrong with red and gold colour for the decorations. Everyone at the mall is in the CNY festive mood now.

There were many red lanterns hanging above other walkways in the mall as well.

Many people were taking photos of the CNY decor.

At the old wing of One Utama Mall, there are many arches with red lanterns hanging from the arches.

These red lanterns have flowers on them.

New Outlet

Banana Leaf Rice paid by friends so I do not know how much it costs. My friends all ate Banana Leaf Roti Canai because this place is famous for their crispy roti canai.

This is Raju's Banana Leaf New Branch at 383 Jalan 5/59, Petaling Garden, PJ. I have never been to their original place but I was told it is a very popular eatery. They also sell vadai at MYR1 nett each which is very tasty.

Five Spices Seafood Pot

I read about this dish at Souper Tang so I ordered it to share with my friend. I find fish maw, sea cucumber, mushrooms, bean curd puffs, fish fillets, broccoli, meat balls, white fungus and many pieces of tendons in it. We also had a bowl of brown rice each at about MYR2.50 for a bowl.

Does the meatball in the bean curd puff resemble another food to you?

The deep fried dory fillet is salty and there are about 3 to 4 pieces of it in the pot. In summary, I find this seafood pot too flavourful for me.

We were served a small plate of pickled guava slices as appetisers (about MYR5) and we ordered a glass of hot yuzu drink to go with our food.

Total bill for two is about MYR76 after adding in the 10% service charge and 6% GST. Please click on the photo above to view a larger version.

Very soon

Happy New Year everyone! Last year, there is a post for each day of the year. For this year, a post will appear 3 times a week.

I was at my usual mall doing my weekly grocery shopping when I noticed that they are putting up the decorations for Chinese New Year. Less than 1 month to go so have you started preparing for CNY?

Colourful lanterns are up at the North Court, Midvalley Mall.

They are also up at the South Court.

Another look at the colourful lanterns. Christmas decorations are still up at the Centre Court. I guess by next week they will be replaced by the CNY decorations.
