I ordered prawns Omelette Rice MYR 20.80++
I am surprised that they put slices of raw onion on top of the omelette rice because usually the onion is put into the omelette so the onion is cooked and not raw. Now the raw onions gave a fresh clean taste to the omelette.
Total MYR 47.20 nett

Hi dear Mun, toast and eggs is my favourite breakfast 😋
ReplyDeletePrawns omelet rice sounds delicious.
Toasts and eggs taste good 😋
DeleteI have seen recipes of omelette where they serve it with raw onions. I happen to love raw onions and I think it is delicious served like that.
ReplyDeleteI am ok with raw onions, just don't see raw onions being used often in Cantonese cuisine.
DeleteMay I know the recipes you saw is what type of cuisine?
I m fine with raw and cooked onions, both taste good!
ReplyDeleteBut have you eaten raw onions in Cantonese cuisine as in those chap fan stalls, have you encountered raw onions? I am ok with raw onions too, because often eat them with satay.
DeleteJust seldom seen them used in Cantonese dishes.
I think nowadays our local canto cuisine is very much fusionized, so it's not uncommon anymore. Some chapfan stalls got sell thai style tofu/fish/chicken also put raw onion, so no fuss.
DeleteAh, u already said it, Thai style means is not Cantonese cuisine lah 😛
DeleteOh that's an interesting version of omelette.
