Angry Mango

Team lunch again. This time our Line Manager gave us a treat at Nando's. Everyone ordered quarter chicken with two sides and a drink but I ordered a wrap with one side and no drink because I know I could not eat that much.

Angry Mango (mild) wrap with grilled vegetables side - MYR17.91 which is the price stated on the menu which is inclusive of GST but not the 10% service charge. On the receipt, the price is printed as MYR16.90 with the GST MYR1.01 printed in a separate section and the 10% service charge MYR1.69 printed separately so this meal costs MYR19.60 in total. The wrap, taste wise is acceptable with chicken breast meat, peri sauce and diced mango as the fillings.

The price as can be seen on the menu is MYR17.91 and the description is chicken, diced mango and rocket but there was no rocket in the wrap I received but I did not make a complaint as it was difficult to show the waiter that there was no rocket in the wrap as the wrap was tightly rolled up. I just let it go.

I did not finish my meal but packed up half the wrap into my container to eat during tea time as we were having cake immediately after lunch to celebrate the last quarter birthday people.

  1. If there's one fruit I couldn't live without, it's mango. Put it in dessert or pie or even make a shake of it, I'd love it.

This is totally a must try.

  3. I see green in your last photo?

They still charge 10%? Another place I will not bother going to anymore... Tsk! Tsk! My girl went to PH yesterday - said they charge 6% only now...not like before when they charged 10% and 6% for the ++. I thought from how I understood it, that is how it should be?

    1. Now that you mentioned it, I see some green in the last photo too but am not sure what it is, maybe some reflection or something because there were no vege in the wrap at all.

I also thought the service charge 10% would be removed but apparently the service charge is not tax so will remain.

  6. ah the wrap will be a goid alternative if you want to have something light.. and I guess with the mango, it makes the wrap more appetizing and refreshing.. me?? of course I'd go for the quarter chicken with two sides and a drink, hehe!! :p

  7. Hey, I think you got a 10 cents reprieve. By right, the 10% service charge should be added onto the bill first and the 6% charged (RM1.11) on that total making it a grand total of RM19.70. I'm surprised to see that they've printed new menus to incorporate the 6% to reflect the new prices. They don't have to do that, they just need to reflect it in their receipts. I find it even more confusing this way.

    1. I think they heard you because someone told me that now the service charge will have 6% on top of it too.

  9. Haih, I want to focus on your wrap, but I end up focusing on the price on the menu. RM17.91, they added GST into the final price in the menu? I wouldn't mind that, quite a good idea I think..

    1. But in the receipt, the price for that item is stated without GST and the GST is specified later at the bottom of the receipt.

  10. I thought that with GST, there will be no 10% service tax. So this place is taxing 16% altogether. I am glad I am not a regular of this place.

    1. I thought so too but no as the 10% is service charge not a tax.

  11. That's an interesting name, Angry mango. Mun, you are such a small eater! That Angry mango wrap would not be enough for me :)

  12. I'd worry about not having enough too, even with cake. :) And you can pack up part of the meal!
