Old School

Sweet and sour pork chop rice set with a drink included - MYR12.90++ (10% service charge and 6% GST) which is about MYR15.05 nett. I chose a barley drink and requested it to be less sweet which they did fulfill. I like this set meal because the portion of rice is small and sweet sour pork chop is one of my favourite food from my childhood..

The meat is quite thick.

Some of the other lunch set meals. Please click on the menu to have a larger image.

Prawn noodle from the ala carte menu. I think it is about MYR11.90++. My friend says it tastes good.

They even decorated the eatery like a classroom. There is another branch in Bandar Puteri, Puchong. This one is located in Jaya One, PJ.

Pablo

One Pablo mini cheese tart to try

Side view

It smells like a butter cookie. The crust tastes like digestive biscuits. The cheese fillings taste a bit like thick yogurt and you can taste that it is salty and sourish. Strong taste when compared to the subtle taste of Bake's cheese tart. I prefer Bake cheese tarts and Tokyo Secret cheese tarts to this one.

MYR8.90 nett for one mini cheese tart.

There are bigger cheese tarts selling at about MYR46 each and premium cheese tarts at about MYR80 each. They also sell drinks.

Pablo freshly baked cheese tart at One Utama. Although there is a long queue but it moves very quickly.

Two in One

Christmas decorations in One Utama. Giant spiders, giant poinsettias, and a red and white crystal balls christmas tree. According to thestar article

[excerpt from the article]
1 Utama Shopping Centre general manager Patrick So revealed that they drew inspiration from a picture that captured a spider spinning its web during winter. “The approach we had was based on an environmental aspect. “Of course, Christmas is all about having family members coming together, but we want to send the message out that we should also be thankful and appreciative of nature’s beauty and its unique creations,” he explained.

Can you see the spider webs?

I like these moss covered rocks because they look like matcha chocolate truffles.

It is fun to walk below these giant poinsettias. It feels like walking in a magic forest.

**********

I was in Damansara Utama recently and when I saw the Texas Chicken eatery, I thought of this post  that mentioned a rojak van nearby that has tasty gravy which is not the same as the peanut gravy for satay so I looked for the van and found it. In the photo above, just look for the blue canopy.

This is the rojak van. The canopy is blue in colour but somehow from this angle, the blue colour cannot be seen and it looked greyish. I did not try the rojak because I was already full and I can't order takeaway because I was going to walk around the new Starling mall so it is not convenient to carry a bag of rojak gravy to go window shopping. Next time then.

This is the name on the van. If you manage to read it, it says "Rojak Utama".

Atami Bento

Recently we noticed that "Lai Lai Casual Dining" eatery at Kuchai Lama has been replaced by a new eatery.

I see the words "Free & Unlimited Refill".

They even do deliveries.

Welcoming Entrance.

The address. We may try it one fine day.

ChiaTe

ChiaTe is a popular bakery in Taiwan selling an assortment of Taiwan style pineapple tarts.

Walnut pineapple tart covered with acrospire - NTD35 nett (MYR4.80 nett at an exchange rate of NTD100 to MYR13.72).

The fillings are made up of walnuts and pineapple with a bit of winter melon taste. Sweet but not too sweet so is quite tasty.

Update: 7 April 2018 (Sat)

Strawberry flavour

The strawberry flavour is subtle so I won't be buying this flavour again.

Not long enough

Back in April this year (2016), I thought that it would be a very, very long time before we eat at House of Fishball, Sri Petaling again but I was wrong. On early morning, we had some errands to run nearby so we ate at this eatery again as it was the closest eatery around that was opened at that time.

I ordered a plate of stir fried chee cheong fun (MYR7 nett) and it was too oily for my liking. The bowl of hot barley bean curd sheets ginkgo (MYR3.50 nett) was not that sweet so it was fine for me. Guess we will only be back here if we have no other choices available to us.
