D13 Sambal Mooncake

On Thursday 4.sep.2025, he wanted to buy siew yuk for his dinner from Canton-Z so we ate brunch at Warisan Kopi.

*** Yi Jia Sambal Nyonya Lotus Mooncake ***

Last year, I didn't buy any mooncakes. This year I have also decided not to buy any mooncakes until my curiosity got the better of me and I bought just one sambal mooncake to try the taste.

2.31 pm - cross section of sambal nyonya lotus mooncake with lots of melon seeds which I like. The sambal nyonya is rolled into a ball and put in the middle of the lotus fillings which means the sambal replaced the salted egg yolk.

The sambal is only a tiny bit spicy and a little bit sweet. It has the nice taste of har bee aka small dried shrimps. I ate this whole 150g of mooncake in one sitting.

2.27 pm - nice pattern

Bought via shopi online. Paid MYR 13.35 nett inclusive of delivery for just one mooncake.

*** Canton-Z siew yuk ***

12.28 noon - he ate these siew yuk aka roast pork MYR 9 nett for his early dinner.

*** Warisan Kopi ***

11.10 am - his order: pork mihun soup MYR 10.90++
My order: ALA carte chicken curry MYR 5.90++ which is too spicy for me so I didn't eat much curry gravy.

11.14 sm - his hot coffee MYR 4++
My ice dessert MYR 10.90++ which tastes very good with lots of ingredients

11.17 am - I ordered fried mee jawa MYR 11.50++ I like the soft noodles, very easy to eat.
Total MYR 46.15 nett.

Morning 44.35
Next morning 45.15
Retained 800g water due to eating too much noodles and sugar 😂

*** The End ***

    1. The traditional mooncake is quite sweet so I also am not eating them that much anymore. Yes, this roast pork is our favourite. You are most welcome 🤗
