Tea Garden as usual

Tea Garden at Sri Petaling is now one of our-go-to-eatery so we found ourselves there again ordering the food that we have ordered before as we are not that adventurous to try other dishes on the menu.

Beef Rendang Nasi Lemak (Coconut Milk Rice) - MYR13.40 nett. Unlike other nasi lemak, this one has acar (pickled vegetables) which is very appetising.

Nyonya Mee Siam at MYR7.90 nett. Still as tasty as before with a sourish broth of slightly creamy (coconut milk) curry. Somehow I felt that it was a little too hot spicy for me so I won't order this next time.

A bowl of Red Bean Sweet Soup (Tong Sui) with Glutinous Rice Balls (5) filled with sesame to share at MYR5.80 nett.

Lots of Red Beans - Yums!

  1. Same as me, I am not very adventurous when it comes to food, if I find certain food I eat is nice, I will stick to the same food every time until one day I get sick of it, haha

    1. Since you cook, you can cook your own red bean tong sui for everyone at home to enjoy.

  3. I don't like it when they fry egg using that ring thing.

Mee Siam does not quite look like the ones I enjoyed so much in Singapore - I wonder what it tastes like but at least it is not dry fried...like the ones at Nyonya Colours:

Can't wait to cook my own using the ready-to-cook kit from there, tried before - very nice, exactly the same but....a lot of work. :(

    1. Nyonya color's is just mee siam. This is nyonya mee siam. Supposed to be different.

  4. I have not eaten the red bean soup with glutinous rice balls. The one I had was thick and cooked with dried mandarin peel. It was very nice.

  5. I also go to my usual eatery. As long as the food is good and suit you well, it is fine. I would go for the nasi lemak.

  7. I am attracted to the Nyonya Mee Siam which is so wet. I had never tried anywhere with so much gravy. Looks yummy.

    1. I am not sure whether or not this nyonya mee siam is supposed to be like this or not. You can go try if you are interested.

  8. Tell you something. I dreamed about red bean this morning. Details I cannot remember, but I just remember there's red bean. Maybe I should get some later during tea break. But the red bean tong sui in our cafeteria gives me the rumbly tummy. :(

  10. Nonya mee siam looks good, like a hybrid of mee siam and mee rebus.

I totally would try 'other' items haha. In fact I have to stop myself from trying other things, coz my experience is I won't like them as much as the first thing.
