Too peppery

For a change, we ordered the deep fried pepper and salt prawns. Can't see the prawns from this angle.

This angle is much better. I find this dish too salty for me. Won't be ordering this again.

Can't go wrong with the beef noodles

This is some sort of seafood noodles. Taste quite nice. I am not sure whether or not the plate of herbs next to it is for this seafood noodles or not.

Glass Roll - a bit too dry and hard so won't be ordering this again also

  2. Oooo, when I see the title, I thought you're having pig stomach soup.. The beef noodles and seafood noodles look very good, soup looks very flavourful too..

  3. The moment I saw the first dish, I recognised it. I was surprised you'd order that dish when you have such a low tolerance for salt.

It proved too salty for me too.

    1. I wanted to eat prawns and it is the only dish with prawns that look nice enough in the menu. I can't believe both outlets cook the dish until too salty so it must be the recipe that calls for too much salt.

  4. I'll take note not to order the prawns. I avoid taking food that is too salty.

  5. The plate of herbs.. I think they are beansprouts and basil leaves? I like the smell of basil leaves so I put them a lot into the beef soup when I eat in Viet restaurant..

    2. I believe those are Vietnamese mint. The leaves of Thai basil, if I'm correct, has a bit of a jagged edge.

  9. Don't really fancy Vietnamese cuisine. The only thing I like is their pho, although I only eat them in the US as I don't eat beef in Malaysia. :P

But ah, that salt and pepper prawns, is that really Vietnamese food? Don't recall seeing such a dish in the menus in all the Vietnamese restaurants I went to in the US..

  11. Ah...beef noodles whenever I go for Vietnamese food and they always serve with the plate of bean sprout and basil leaves. Too bad the prawns and glass roll were a disappointment.

  15. I love pepper and salty prawns. But not too salty or peppery. Just nice and did not overwhelming the sweetness of the prawns.

    1. If not too peppery and too salty, it would be super tasty.

  20. Oh yes! I remembered going there to eat and it was nice for me as I ate something else. Finally I might be making a visit to Vietnam for the first time soon to try their real cooking.
