Dengkil Kah Heong Pao

We went to Dengkil, a small town 45km from KL to visit this shop.

The bao 's' were kept in these large bamboo steamer baskets.

Good prices - Big Bao MYR3, Char Siew Bao/BBQ Pork Bao MYR1.70 and MYR1.50 each for Vege Bao, Red Bean Bao, Peanut Bao, Kaya Bao and Coconut Bao.

We bought many Bao as takeaways. This is the Char Siew Bao. The texture of the Bao is soft and somewhat dense which I like. The red bean bao tastes very nice too.

  4. The char siew pao looks like not much liew.. But if the pao is soft and fresh, then I don't mind more pao and less liew actually.. I like "sang yok" and char siew the most.. And maybe "choy pao", inside got ju hu char, nice..

    1. You are right, the choy pao has got ju hu char inside. Liew is enough la for the char siew pao.

  7. Wow...you would go all the way just for paos! I'd be too lazy to travel that distance unless they have some dim sum to go with it ;) Anyway I like my pao with more char siew filling but for the price of RM1.70, that amount of liew is alright.

  9. The bao skin, too thick... me no like thick skinned baos, regardless of how soft the skins are...

    1. I think you can only eat Xiiao Long Bao la in this case since you want thin skin and more fillings.

    2. No lah, I like normal baos too, but not with super thick skins...

    3. But this skin is like normal baos lah, not that thick, just that the liew is a bit less than others.
