Light Cakes

RT Pastry is the go to place for light and affordable cakes. A 300g sesame sponge cake costs only MYR40.25 (nett). 4 of us bought 2 slices to try - Sesame Charcoal Sponge Slice for MYR6.68 and Sesame Sponge Hazelnut Cream slice for MYR6.15 and we find that the latter is sweeter than the former but both are light and easy to eat.

  1. I like sponge cake. I think I have not tasted sesame sponge cake before but I think I like the sesame sponge hazelnut cream cake because I love hazel nuts.

    1. It is quite light if you just eat a slice and it is gone so fast into your stomach taht you won't get to fully grasp its taste.

  2. I've tried some of theirs - some people bought me a couple of times.

    1. The decoration is sure nice. This sponge cake is slightly moist.

  4. I think I've heard about this place but I don't usually venture into pastry houses as I don't eat that much sweet stuff. The only times I'd eat them are when I'm sharing with friends at cafes.

    1. They have a few outlets around klang valley. We like to go here to buy cakes to celebrate my parents-in-law birthdays because they are affordable and also the cakes are as a symbol only so not worth it to get expensive ones.

    1. Yes, those are two slices sold individually. Not big, about 2cm x 4cm x 5cm but decorated nicely.

    1. Not a lot of creme like cupcakes. Just a thin layer between the sponge cake layers.
