Hailam Kopitiam

Mee Siam - MYR7.80 - I like this as the meehoon was soft enough and there were lots of crunchy beansprouts.

Nasi lemak with chicken rendang - MYR9.60 - I find that this is a good price when compared to the price of nasi lemak sold by its competitors in this area.

I suddenly realized that we have been eating at this type of franchise kopitiam two days in a row recently. This was because we did not eat our meals at the usual meal times so all the other eateries have closed for a break between lunch time and dinner time. These franchise kopitiams were the only ones opened for business at the time we were hungry.

Cendol - MYR4.20 - tasty!

  1. I've seen this place a long long time ago, like from day1, but never been there.. Maybe one day should try.. Food looks nice, like any other kopitiam food.. Normally if I come to this Jalil link, it's gonna be one reason only - seeing Dr.Ron at Medivron clinic, then buy Chatime after that, hehe..

  2. Ooooo....mee siam looks really good. They have a few Hailam kopitiam in Kuching, none here. Never tried those there or anywhere either. I think there's a big Hailam restaurant round the corner from Pavilion? I hear the food's good.

  3. Is this Jalil Link a place? Like a hangout area like Sunway Giza? I don't think I heard of it before.
I opposite from you with mee siam, I prefer less taugeh, ideally none, as although crunchy, they dilute the spicy and sour taste of my mouthful of mee siam.

  4. I can see that the taugeh is fresh and not overcooked. Nasi lemak looks good too and cendol was perfect to end the meal!

  5. I like the meehoon, yes, the bean sprouts looks fresh and crunchy! We do not have a Hailam kopithiam over here... I think each kopithiam have their own kind of food and the most common one is the nasi lemak... sedap!

  7. This used to be my regular hang out until PapaRich sprouted everywhere! Now they just opened one new Hailam near my house and I should continue to patronize. The coffee kao is nice and the mee siam is also good for me.
Recently I attended a pot luck farewell gathering at a friend's home and someone brought a pot of very delicious and fragrant Mee Siam. She confessed that she bought them from Bakeroni in Taman Desa! Wow! The taste was heavenly nice!
