I believe this vacant shoplot at The Curve used to be occupied by Franco. I wonder what eatery will be here next.

Just Gone
I have not eaten at Johnny Rockets eatery at The Curve and now it seems that they have moved away for a steamboat restaurant which will be opening sometime in Nov 2018.

Colourful Decor
They were still setting it up when I was there previously. Now everything is ready and shining brightly! Santa Claus flying in on his sledge with the reindeer. I believe there is a wishing well next to the green pavilion in the middle of the display.
"All I want for Christmas..." is the theme at The Curve.
Many people taking photos of the reindeer.
Very colourful. I managed to catch a singing and dancing performance at the pavilion with green roof.

Ready or not
A Christmas tree at the Gardens Mall
Icicles decorations
Just magical
A white Christmas at the Gardens Mall
Meanwhile at The Curve, they are just setting up the decorations with Santa Claus flying in on his sledge with the reindeers.

Bubba Gump for Shrimps
Recently I feel like eating shrimps and prawns so off we went to Bubba Gump at The Curve, Mutiara Damansara.
3 of us ordered Fisherman's Catch (about MYR41.90) and Shrimp Pasta (about MYR32.90) with drinks to share.
Shrimps sauteed with Capers in Lemon-Garlic Butter and Linguine. I find the pasta to be too al-dente for me. Parmesan cheese are sprinkled on top so if you don't like cheese, do remember to request the waiting staff to omit the cheese. The shrimps taste fresh enough and not too crunchy so I quite like it.
I ordered a glass of strawberry smoothie - about MYR13.90 which is way too sweet for me until I feel it is burning my throat. Luckily we also request for a glass of iced plain water so I drank it to soothe my throat. The cup of hot coffee costs about MYR5.90 and I have forgotten to take a photo of the bill so I do not know how much it is.

We removed the Fisherman's Catch from the bucket. Flash Fried Calamari, Golden Shrimp and Breaded White Fish dusted with Cajun Spices with fries. Good for those who like to eat crispy deep fried food. Too much deep fried food here for me in one sitting so we put half of them into our containers to eat later at home.

Getting popular
A container cafe located at The Curve. As I seldom drink tea or coffee, I did not buy any item from them.

The Curve CNY decor
I believe this CNY decor was still work-in-progress at the time I took the photo. If I am not wrong, there should be stalls selling CNY goodies when it is done.

Looks matter?
Teh Tarik Place at the Curve again.
Combo Set Lunch - 1 rice, 1 main, 1 vegetable, 1 glass of iced syrup for MYR10.90 nett since I chose mutton as the main. I chose brinjal (eggplant) as the vegetable and it was very, very salty but I finished it at the expense of my health just because I dislike wasting food.
Nasi Kerabu - MYR10.55 nett - good value.

Fish Panini
Finally tried this Fish Panini MYR14.90++ (MYR15.80). Tasty but I prefer the fish to be a bit less salty.
We get to choose from 3 types of Panini - Parmesan Oregano, Oatmeal and Italian and you can tell which one I selected.
Bought this from Vivo at The Curve

Lau Sha Bao (流沙包)
I ate one of this bao during the special priced tea time session (3pm to 6pm) at Ying Ker Lou, The Curve. MYR5 for 2 baos in a bamboo basket. The size of the bao is smaller than the ones I had here but it is not that small until I can put the whole bao into my mouth as I wish to.
This time I was not careful and the "salted egg yolk lava" landed on my hand. It was really hot and scalded my hand slightly. We really need to be careful when eating this bao but it is delicious. Since the "lava" is so hot, I think it will be dangerous if the size is small enough for me to eat the whole bao in one mouthful. My throat and mouth would definitely be scalded then.
The "salted egg yolk lava" which looks a bit dry here because most of it has flowed out onto my hand, ouch!

Tea Time at Ying Ker Lou
After eating dim sum at Ying Ker Lou (10 am to 12 noon) and finding the food to be tasty, we returned to the restaurant on another day during tea time (3 pm to 6 pm) to eat the special priced dim sum again.
Ginseng Chrysanthemum Drink (Hot) MYR6 - it has a very strong ginseng taste and not sweet at all so it is worth drinking. Snow Pear Rock Sugar White Fungus Dessert MYR4 - very sweet and the pear is a bit crunchy and rather tart so I suspect the pear has been slightly pickled.
Hakka Bamboo Shoot Dumplings (MYR5) for two in a basket. Normal price is MYR9.9 for three in a basket.

Yum Cha at Ying Ker Lou
The last time we ate at Ying Ker Lou, we noticed this "Yum Cha & High Tea Dim Sum" special menu at Ying Ker Lou, The Curve (available from 10 am to 12 noon & 3 pm to 6 pm) and said to ourselves that we would come again to try it and we did. The price of each food item is from MYR3 to MYR6. This deal is not available at Ying Ker Lou at The Gardens mall now though it used to be available previously.
On the menu, it says the portion has been adjusted to suit one person (meaning the portion during this time period is less). We expected this of course since the price is cheaper too. And it states on the special menu - strictly no takeaways. For the two of us, we ordered 7 items during the 10 am to 12 noon session.
Hakka Yellow Wine Xiao Long Bao - MYR6 - we still prefer Din Tai Fung's Xiao Long Bao.
Sweet potatoes ginger dessert - MYR4 - the ginger is very strong, my friend was sweating after drinking this. We did not order the braised peanuts but did not reject it when it was served so it was charged to us at MYR3.
The full spread - Total Bill came up to MYR42.90 after 10% service charge and 6% gov. tax
