The Curve CNY decor
I believe this CNY decor was still work-in-progress at the time I took the photo. If I am not wrong, there should be stalls selling CNY goodies when it is done.

Hot! Hot!
I have eaten this seafood yee mee early last year with clear broth. This time I requested for Tom Yam broth but it was too hot and spicy for me so I must remember to stay with the clear broth next time.

Dried fish fillet snacks?
The label says "Seaweed Cuttlefish Crispy" but in the list of ingredients, it just says "ikan" (Malay Language) which means fish.
For 200g, the price is MYR16.88 but if it is the dried fish fillet snacks which are very tedious to make and takes a lot of effort to make it, this price should be worth it, right?

Sharing Double Prosperity
Just for fun, four of us shared this large double beef burger set meal. We were given a pack of ang pow packets which look very pretty in pink.
Looks very messy but is quite tasty as the pepper taste is fiery!
The beef patty. There is a choice of prosperity chicken burger for those who do not eat beef.
A small ice cream cone was given foc when one pays using credit or debit card. Total costs: MYR21.05 nett.

Poppo Kanteen again
Since Poppo Kanteen is a new eatery in Sri Petaling, we went back to try other items on their menu, especially the mutton and beef dishes.
Briyani Gam Mutton - MYR17.90 nett. There is a lot of mutton underneath the rice. The mutton is tender but the dark gravy is on the sweet side with a strong taste of star anise and clove which is unlike the taste of briyani gam mutton that I have eaten before. There are pieces of carrots and potatoes in the small bowl of curry given. The acar (pickled raw cucumber, onion, pineapple) is sourish sweet and tasty.
Nasi Lemak Chicken Rendang (Coconut milk rice with chicken cooked in spices and coconut milk) - MYR8.90 nett. We ordered Beef Rendang but was told it was sold out so we chose chicken rendang. They gave us a big piece of chicken breast meat but the default portion of rice given was quite small, good for people who wants to consume less carbohydrates.
Cendol - MYR4.90 nett - it is sweet with a tinge of saltiness in the coconut milk on coarse ice shavings and there are corn niblets which is not usually present in cendol.
Poppo Cham (cold) - MYR4.90 nett - cham means mix in Cantonese and normally for cham, it will be a mix of tea and coffee but this Poppo Cham drink has milo in it too. The milo taste in this drink overpowered the coffee and tea so we will order the usual cham next time because we prefer coffee and tea.
Total: MYR36.60 nett. We will be back because I have yet to try their mutton curry and beef rendang.

Eating Leisurely
We needed a quiet place to chat and McD was beckoning so we ate breakfast there - something that I seldom do.
Thin pancakes. They called it hotcakes here, served with butter and honey. Quite ok but I can easily make better ones at home so that is why I have never bought them from McD until this time.
A fish fillet, hash brown, coffee breakfast set - MYR9.85 nett and ala carte pancakes - MYR5.45 nett
With covers off
An indulgence indeed - look at that price for 2 thin hotcakes.
I kept the Fish Burger and ate it at home for dinner.

Poppo Kanteen
Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah (Coconut milk rice with Deep Fried Spiced Chicken) - MYR8.90 nett. Coffee mixed with Tea (Cham) Hot - MYR3.80 nett.
The menu. HQ is in Cheras and they just opened a branch in Sri Petaling. Opening Hours: 8 am to 12 or 1 am.
This eatery took over the corner shoplot that used to be occupied by Tim Kee Chicken Rice and renovated it nicely.

Ong Lai Pie
Pineapple in Hokkien (a Chinese dialect) is known as Ong Lai which sounds like "Prosperity Comes" so in conjunction with the imminent CNY celebration, McD now has Pineapple Pie on its menu so that Prosperity comes to whoever who eats it (and so we wish of course!).
After my Pie Mistake of buying McD Spinach Pie and Lychee Pie 3.5 months ago, I said to myself maybe this time it would be different so I bought a Pineapple Pie and true enough, the Ong Lai pie is quite nice, tastes like a Pineapple cordial drink.

Deep Fried Pineapple Pie - MYR2.90 nett
I cut it in two, ate half and gave the other half away. Does it mean I just halved my prosperity? Oops!

Moon Kee Fish Noodle at Sri Petaling
Update: 3 April 2016 (Sunday). We were around this area and noticed that this eatery is no longer at this location.
I read about this Fish Noodle eatery in PJ but did not have a chance to visit it. Now that it has opened a branch in Sri Petaling recently which is near my place, it is quite convenient for me to drop by for an early dinner.
My order - Seaweed soup with Dragon Grouper 龍虎斑 (4 pieces of fish meat) with thin rice vermicelli (mee hoon) - MYR21.20 nett (inclusive of 6% GST) for a small portion which contains a lot of mee hoon until I had to stuff myself to finish it. The fish meat is fresh with thick chewy skin.
Dragon Grouper 龍虎斑 is a hybrid between Giant Grouper 龍躉 Epinephelus lanceolatus and Brown-Marbled Grouper or Tiger Grouper 老虎斑 (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus). Grouper is also known as Sea Bass.
My Spouse's order - Milky Noodle (Thin Mee Hoon) Soup with Poached Grouper 石斑 (we chose to omit the milk) - MYR16.95 nett for a small portion which also contains a lot of mee hoon with 4 pieces of fresh fish meat. This fish has thinner skin than Dragon Grouper. I prefer this broth because it is sourish due to the tomatoes. Both bowls of noodles included lots of spring onions which we like.
I wonder will they give more pieces of fish meat for the larger portion or just more noodles. The small portion contains more than enough noodles for us each so I prefer that they give more pieces of fish meat. Guess we will need to order a large portion to find out on our next visit.
Please click on the menu above to view the prices. I will order the Giant Grouper Noodle on my next visit because Giant Grouper has the thickest skin which I like to eat. I am happy that I do not need to travel far now to get my fresh Grouper noodle.
