Rush 2pm viewing

On Tuesday 30.dec.2025, went to PJ early at 7.23 am. Morning rush hour so there were many cars on the road but moving so reached PJ at about 7.49 am. Guess many working people are clearing their annual leaves so traffic is considered good, no congestion.

*** So So Good Soy Souffle Pancakes ***

Went to PJ because I want to eat this dessert ๐Ÿ˜‹
So soft, thick and fluffy ๐Ÿ˜‹

*** MJ Wang Seapark coffee shop ***

7.53 am - we shared all the food he ordered: 3jc dry mihun horfun, pork noodles soup and hot cham drink
7.53 am - I bought one each: peanut apam MYR 2.20 and coconut apam MYR 2.20

8.03 am - bought the apam from this ipoh famous apam balik stall

8.20 am - MJ Wang seapark coffee shop. It has been a very long time that we didn't go to seapark pj that we don't even know that Ruby Seapark condo is completed in 2022.
After this seapark, we went to starling mall until 1 pm, parking fees MYR 5 nett.

*** Kam Kee Starling mall ***

9.21 am - we waited for shops in starling mall to open at 10 am by eating breakfast 2 at Kam Kee eatery which opens at 9 am.
Hot barley lemon no sugar
Hot lemon honey
Toast sausage egg
Flaky lard pastry egg tart
10.19 am Total MYR 30.20 nett.

*** Toastiful ***

11.31 am - I bought takeaway beef pastrami MYR 24 nett from toastiful

*** Foodies' Nest Food Court Starling mall ***

11.57 am - ALA carte roast pork MYR 14.90 nett from Triple Happiness roast meat stall before eating desserts

*** SoyLab uptown ***

12.16 noon - the souffle pancake needs 30 minutes to be ready so I ordered a cold soy pudding to eat while waiting MYR 5.60+

12.17 noon - he ordered warm black sesame with tofufa MYR 8.50+

12.46 noon - Berry Bananamania with a scope of strawberry ice cream MYR 27+

1 pm - I ordered a cup of Genmaicha soft serve MYR 13.50+ after finishing the pancakes to lessen the sweet taste in my mouth by replacing it with the fragrant taste of roasted rice Genmai from the Genmaicha soft-serve.
Total MYR 57.90 nett.

Was in time for 2pm.

Morning 44.30
Next morning 44.60
Retained 300g water because ate too much food.

Marco Value Meal

On Friday 10.mar.2023, went to Midvalley Mall for food and grocery. I was considering eating at Snitch by The Thieves when we walked past Marco at the Gardens Mall. What a pleasant surprise. I didn't know that Marco has officially opened at the Gardens Mall on 18.jan.2023 so we ate our lunch there.

12.53 noon - please click on the above photo for a larger image to select the set lunch that you prefer.

12.09 noon - lunch set Pork Schnitzel MYR 27.90++ with Salad. We requested for the cheese mayo to be served separately as this set is for him and he doesn't eat cheese. I ate all the cheese mayo which is quite thick with only a very light cheese taste. This lean pork meat is very suitable for me as I don't eat fatty bits.

12.11 noon - I chose this Sous Vide chicken breast, mashed potatoes and salad MYR 27.90++ lunch set. The meat has garlic oil drizzled over it.

I top up MYR 7++ for a iced latte drink. Good that they are using paper straw.

12.27 noon - the sous vide chicken breast meat is tender and juicy.

I like the buttery creamy taste of the mashed potatoes. Very nice๐Ÿ‘and the portion is just enough, not too much.

12.31 noon - the ice cream that is part of the lunch set. One each.

12.19 noon - I also ordered this matcha souffle MYR 28++ because the main reason that I am eating lunch at this eatery is for the dessert.

12.19 noon - soft inside with slightly crispy outer layer.

Total price for 2 pax: MYR 105.35 nett. I will be back for more food.

12.55 noon - Marco at the Gardens Mall.

5.23 pm - his dinner of pork mushrooms sui Gao from frozen and kimchi.

6 pm - I helped him eat some of the skins of the sui Gao with a few whole sui Gao and vege.

WG Slow Coffee

My friend took me to a new cafe at The Hub, SS2 for lunch. After looking through the menu, I ordered this chicken and waffle from the brunch menu at MYR 22+ (10% service charge = MYR 24.20 nett). So much for me wanting to stay away from deep fried food. The next best thing to do is I removed the crispy coatings as much as I could to eat the chicken.

My friend's order: chicken confit at MYR 28+ (MYR 30.80 nett). She sent it back to the kitchen because the bone is oozing red liquid which we think is blood and the kitchen cooked a new one for her explaining that the meat will be not as juicy since they cook it longer to ensure the bones are fully cooked.

We shared a vanilla souffle pancake at MYR 19+ (MYR 20.90 nett).

Now you can see the fruits.

After my friend took half away.

Total bill for two pax: MYR 75.90 nett.

The menu. what would you order?

The mains and desserts. Anything you fancy from this menu?

 Interior - looking out.

 Interior - looking in.

Can you see the name of this cafe - Slow coffee - white words on white walls.

Here the word slow can be seen. Mei by Fat Spoon is located along this same row.

Souffle Pancakes

Souffle Pancakes are popular in Japan but I have never eaten them when I was in Tokyo back in 2007 so when my friend brought me to eat this Sakura Souffle Pancake in Penang, I have no way of knowing whether it tastes authentic or not.

It is light and fuffly so it is easy to eat. Now you see it, now you don't kind of easy to eat. Not too sweet.

My friend paid for it so I am not sure whether MYR 24.90 is the nett price or not. All other souffle pancake choices consist of the souffle pancakes with the same original flavour but the toppings are different: matcha and red bean, mangoes, chocolate are some of them.

This cafe is named Lavish. It is a Fusion Bakery by Love A Loaf, which is a  popular bakery in Penang,

Back in KL, I tried the Matcha Red Bean souffle pancake (MYR 21 nett) at another popular cafe called "Neighbour's Coffee Bar". The syrup tastes like butterscotch syrup to me but it could be just caramel syrup.

The sides are light and fluffy but the middle part is moist with texture similar to the savoury souffle I ate in Franco cafe in One Utama back in 2015 which is like thick milk foam on a cup of cappucino. They are easy to eat too so very quickly they are no more. Franco cafe is now Marco in One Utama with the same owner but serving almost fine dining food instead.

I was told that they are out of chocolate items when I placed an order for the chocolate banana souffle pancake. I did not order the one with soft serve because the seasonal flavour for the soft serve has something to do with caramel which I do not quite like.

Foc drinking water is provided but the two of us ordered a cup of black coffee at MYR 9 nett. The coffee is thick and rich with a taste so unique that I inquired about the bean and the answer is Ethiopia Aricha Pink by Cloud Catcher with the online description of "89pts Bubble gum and floral aromatics with flavours of raspberry, rose water, red grapes, blueberry, cherry jam and very elegant finish" - no wonder we could not put our finger on the taste.

This cafe is located in Seri Gembira Avenue, Happy Garden where Canton Kitchen is.

The cafe is bright and pleasant so the 30 minutes wait for the pancake after placing our order was bearable. We were there earlier but it was full house so we went to another eatery for a quick lunch to fill our hungry tummies before returning here for desserts at our leisure.
