Yummy or Yucky
So what do we have here - Mushroom Chicken Feet noodles (dry). I have not encountered the soupy version of mushroom chicken feet noodles before. There are 3 chicken feet so it is a generous portion, all for MYR 6.50 nett only at a neighbourhood coffee shop. I guess not many people know how to enjoy this dish, especially the younger generation. I used to like eating this dish but have not eaten this dish for a while. This dish is ordered by my friend.

El Fresco Jaya Grocer
5 of us went to the "food court" by Jaya Grocer in the Gardens Mall for lunch and bought half a roast chicken (MYR32.90 nett) with 2 sides to share - we chose mash potatoes and apple salad as the sides. One of us ordered a bowl of mushroom soup and the rest of us ordered the same too because the drinks here are more expensive than a bowl of mushroom soup (MYR6.80 nett each).
There is a promotion of buy one pizza and get 50% off the 2nd pizza. We ordered a smoked salmon pizza and a quattro stagioni (four seasons) pizza. After we paid, we were informed that the smoked salmon pizza was not available so we replaced the smoked salmon pizza (MYR32.90 nett) with a lamb meatball pizza (MYR26.90 nett) which was lower in price. Instead of asking for a cash refund on the difference in price, we opted to have an additional bowl of side dish which is about the same price as the cash refund. We chose vegetables (broccoli, carrots and baby tomatoes) as the side dish. This price for this side dish is stated as MYR7.50 nett on the menu.
Quattro Stagioni (four seasons) thin crust pizza - chicken sausage, beef, mushrooms and tuna - MYR27.80 nett but was MYR13.90 nett due to the 50% off promotion for the 2nd pizza.
Lamb meatball thin crust pizza. The price (MYR26.90 nett) is a bit lower than the smoked salmon pizza (MYR32.90 nett). Both thin crust pizzas are very tasty and crunchy but is a bit on the salty side.
Total Bill is MYR113.70 nett which means about MYR22.75 for one pax.

Killer Gourmet Burgers
I passed by this eatery yesterday and saw that all the seats were occupied so I bought 2 burgers as takeaways for the 4 of us to try at home. Finally, a gourmet burger joint at a mall near my place. I wanted to try myBurgerLab and Burgertory too but their locations are not convenient for me.
Prices are nett and they have chicken and vegetarian burgers too. I will be back to try their specialty fries such as Kimchi Fries (with Bulgogi Beef) at MYR13.90 and Texas Jalapeno Steak & Cheese Fries (Beef/Chicken) at MYR14.90 a serving.
They highlight that their beef used is 100% steak grade (Australian Grass Fed) on their menu. There are some interesting drinks such as Salted Caramel Pralines Milkshakes and Nutella S'mores (marshmallows) Milkshakes at MYR11.90 each but I don't think I can handle a milkshake with a burger, not even on a sharing basis so maybe one item at a time in the future.
Don't be fooled by this photo that was taken when the eatery was not open yet. The seats are usually fully occupied during meal times on weekends and pubic holidays.
1. KGB Spiked - MYR15.90 - Crust Seared Beef, Sharp Cheddar, Crispy Beef Bacon, KGB Spicy Sauce. I find the crispy beef bacon to be very salty and there is a strong black pepper taste.
2. Truffle'd Swiss Mushroom - MYR20.90 - Grilled Beef, Sauteed Portobello Mushrooms, Swiss Cheese, Truffle Infusion, Herbed Ranch. As expected, there is a very strong mushroom taste which I like. I prefer the taste of this burger to the other one I bought.

Kong Nam Mee
This is the last post for the year and I end it with 江南麵 (Kong Nam Mee). I am guessing that this noodle originated from 江南 (Kong Nam / Jiang Nan) hence its name.
I have fulfilled my own goal of a post a day for the year 2014 so for the new year, I am going to relax a bit so it will be as and when I feel like writing a post, you will see a post. :)
To everyone, thank you for writing comments on my blog for this year. I truly appreciate it and look forward to reading your comments.
MYR10 for 1 pax with lots of mushrooms, vegetables, prawns, squid and half a century egg on top of deep fried noodle.

Waste of Stomach Space
Let's just say eating at this place was not my choice but a vote by the majority. Against my better judgement, I ordered the above dish when I should have just ordered the chicken hor fun soup at MYR6.90++ = MYR7.25. Sure the hor fun could turn out to be just as bad but then it is MYR3.15 cheaper.
Well, call me a pasta snob but I only eat my pasta at authentic Italian restaurants which means I only get to eat pasta once in a blue moon. From the photo, I am sure you can tell what is wrong with this pasta meal.
The worst thing is that there was a lump of salt either on a piece of beef bacon or on the pasta itself and it was so salty that it was burning my mouth and I took a while to decide whether to spit the whole ugly mess out of my mouth in front of the majority or to just swallow it. Guess what, again, against my better judgement I swallowed it and had to drink glasses and glasses of water the whole day.

I am not even going to name this place. Just look at the pasta of other diners. If you see one that looks like the photo above, then you know what to do.
