Kimchi K Burger Kuchai

Wednesday 10.nov.21 is kid 1's day but all 3 of 4 kids gather with the elderlies at home during lunch for a meal delivered from Grand Imperial Restaurant, Sunway Velocity. All 3 kids share the cost of this luxury meal equally which is MYR 192 nett each.

5.47 pm - Look at the kimchi in this Kimchi Pork Patty Burger. I like the taste of this Kimchi Burger as there is no overall one single strong taste but a well complement assortment of tastes. Not too much sauce and there are no fatty bits in the pork patty so this is in the can-buy-again category.

5.37 pm - his classic burger with no cheese, one pork patty, raw cabbage and caramelized onions. Not too much gravy so he is ok with this burger but he was hungry at 9 pm so must eat two of this classic burger to stay full throughout the night.

5.36 pm - this is how the burgers are delivered in the closed paper bag which is put in a plastic bag to prevent the paper bag from getting wet from rain water as it is raining when the burgers are delivered. Poor rider shoes were soaked with rain water. Good to see the rider wearing a water repellent jacket I think.

4.21 pm - place the order and just wait. There is a discount of about MYR 4.05 which is not shown in this display in the Foodpanda app.

Tuesday 9.nov.21 9 pm - we pre order these 2 dishes and 1 dessert the previous night for Wednesday lunch gathering to add on to the 3 dishes from Grand Imperial Restaurant.

12.31 noon - Teassert Mochi Yam - his review as I didn't join the lunch gathering so I didn't eat this: mochi with yam taste and burnt sugar caramel swirls around the mochi.

11.11 Big Sale - did you get anything?

Thu 11.nov.21 6.50 am - it was raining the whole night so the weather is quite cold in the morning. Can't wait for the shops to open on Foodpanda so he cooked two portions of instant noodles for the both of us. Warm yummy noodles on a cold, cold, cold and wet morning.

Daorae Kimchi Pancake

On Fri 14.may.21, I felt like eating Kimchi Pancake so I searched for a restaurant nearby to buy takeaway but the Korean restaurants in the vicinity are all still closed when I went out to buy food around 9 am so I had to order food delivery via beepit when we got back home with our takeaway food. This kimchi pancake from Daorae, Sri Petaling costs MYR 30+ and has more kimchi cabbages in it than the pancake dough better so it is worth paying this price for. There are 3 or 4 other restaurants nearby with kimchi pancake around MYR 18+ but I chose Daorae due to its reputation. The whole pancake is cut into 8 segments which will take me 4 to 5 days to finish because I only eat a maximum of two segments a day.

I don't know why I order this short beef ribs set too at MYR 28+ because I will have to finish it myself since he feels that beef taste is too strong for him. Needless to say, I didn't eat this dish at all on Friday itself. I bite off more than I could chew in this case. It is going to be a struggle for me to finish this beef set and will take me a few days to do so.

I was surprised to get banchans too. Didn't expect it. The kimchi is tasty but the anchovies are too salty and sweet at the same time.

Two sets of banchans. He helped me finish one set and I ate one set of banchans with only one portion of anchovies being kept for the future.

The beef set includes glass noodles and rice which I kept in the fridge. The rice was used to cook fried rice today, Mon 17.may.21 for lunch shared by two of us.

Beepit got Lalamove to deliver the above food. I was lucky to get delivery because I read that sometimes when the various apps couldn't find any delivery people, the placed order will get cancelled.

Need to add MYR 1.50 for the plastic containers for each food order. Delivery fees cost MYR 5.50 nett.

On the next day, Sat, 15.may.21, I ate some beef short ribs with all the glass noodles in the broth with super strong beef taste for dinner at 7.30 pm.

On the 3rd day, Sun 16.may.21 at around 4.30 pm, I had to eat all the short beef ribs that are still remaining in the fridge. I requested him to try a piece of lean beef and he did. It wasn't a nice experience for him because he said that the beef taste was too strong for him and he had to drink hot thick coffee after that to get rid of the beef after taste in his mouth.

I didn't want to throw away the beef broth and the broth was too much for me to drink just like that, so I decided to add daikons to it. Now that I am no longer going to Midvalley Mall for my weekly grocery, on Sundays, I go to the supermarket in taman Desa for my groceries.

Bought this pack of 3 daikons yesterday.

The daikons or radish costs MYR 7.07 nett.

I cut all 3 daikons and put it into a pot.

I also bought the cheapest pack of raw beef I could find in the Supermarket at MYR 11.90 nett for 170 g at MYR 69.99 per kg to make beef jerky.

Just put it into the pot with two squares of hard cheong fatty tofu. Then I pour the beef broth from Daorae into the pot with 300 ml of water. Bring it to boil and then simmer it for 1 hour 26 mins on a gas stove.

The broth has been reduced to less than one small bowl when I switch off the gas stove.

I got my beef jerky and the daikons and tofus taste very good. Guess I shouldn't chin chai order food else I need to spend time cooking in the kitchen to ensure that the food I ordered will not go to waste. Serves me right, lolx! So I spent yesterday, Sun 16.may.21 in the kitchen cooking when I have decided not do any cooking anymore. Guess it will help me to remember this lesson. Don't order more than I could chew. 😅

Uzu Chicken

Read about Uzu chicken in Lina's post:

https://linasbackyard.blogspot.com/2020/11/uzu-boneless-korean-fried-chicken-1st.html

Foodpanda doesn't deliver to my area although it is only 8.2. Km away from Uzu chicken at The Sphere, Bangsar so I ordered from Uzu Chicken at Leisure Mall Cheras and use grab express to collect my food. Need to let the rider know to collect the food from OISO korean restaurant. I wonder what is the relationship between Uzu Chicken and Oiso.

I bought chicken soy garlic dip, rice cheese sticks and kimchi dumplings sets and were given a small container of kimchi foc which tastes very good, sourish and a bit spicy. Total price after 20% discount is MYR 47.75 Nett.

I ate all the salad. Two are with yuzu dressings and one is with light sesame dressings. The salad is very refreshing.

Rice cheese sticks. I don't think they need to give packs of chili sauce for these rice cheese sticks.

The packaging.

Kimchi dumpling. Need to eat together with the kimchi that is foc because without the additional kimchi, the dumplings taste like eating chye kuihs because the fillings taste like peppery daikon.

Rice cheese stick. It is a bit sweet. I think this is toppoki filled with a bit of cheese that is not cheesy. There are 8 sticks. I ate two for lunch and one for dinner and kept 5 in the fridge. I would eat this as a dessert since it is a bit sweet so I don't need the chilli sauce.

Lunch - yellow noodles and hor fun from the previous day's Porkki Porkki restaurant, kimchi pork bone stew from the previous day's Go Heung with added napa cabbage and white soft tofu. Taste like Ma Por Tofu. So yummy and flavourful. Both of us shared this meal.

Breakfast - Yee Mee pork soup from the previous day's Porkki Porkki restaurant.

1Day 3Food Deliveries

Delivery 1: Grab doesn't deliver food from this GoHeung restaurant to my area so I arranged for Grab Express to collect the food and deliver to my place. Read about this kimchi pork bone stew on PH's article:

https://phonghongbakes.blogspot.com/2020/11/kitchen-goheung-solaris-mont-kiara-via.html

And was salivating at the delicious Kimchi and true enough, the Kimchi napa cabbage wrapping the pork bone is simply delicious, melts in the mouth. I order both kimchi pork bone stew and pork bone stew for MYR 26 each. Ate one pork bone and kept the remaining two in the fridge.

These 4 assorted kimchi accompanied the main dishes: Napa cabbage kimchi, Radish kimchi, Hairy gourd kimchi and Chives Kimchi. I ate all the hairy gourd kimchi and kept the 3 in the fridge after eating a bit of each. The napa cabbage kimchi is crunchy so it is freshly made, not fermented long enough to be sour but is also tasty.

Kimchi pancake and chives pancake. MYR 25 each. I didn't order the seafood pancake which is priced at MYR 30. I find that the taste of the chives pancake eaten together with the napa cabbage kimchi is better than the the kimchi pancake. The pancake is soft and a bit gooey so I like eating them.

Delivery 2 from Teoh Chew Chendol Penang at Sunway Velocity. Fruit Rojak. Their packaging is very securely tied using cable ties. Read Libby's post and it got me thinking of Chendol so I bought it too.

Nasi Lemak with chicken rendang for 2 pax dinner. The chicken rendang is inside the cover which is also a container.

Ice shavings are provided separately from the toppings and syrups.

This container has the toppings and syrup for ABC. The rose syrup tastes like sarsi. We shared this ABC between us and ate it all.

Ate this portion of Chendol.

Kept this portion of Chendol with ice in the freezer for the next day.

Top view of Nasi Lemak with chicken rendang.

Delivery 3: two sets of soupy noodles from Porkki Porkki restaurant for breakfast on Friday and Saturday. I like how tidy they pack the soup and noodles into separate containers. No spillage at all.

Petai Kimchi

PH recommended this KimChi fried rice from KyoChon and after eating it, I can understand why. The flavours are strong, but I believe when eaten with KyoChon fried chicken, this KimChi fried rice would convert non-believers into believers. Believe that KimChi is tasty. This portion costs MYR 12 nett.

8 pieces of Drumette and Wingette at MYR 22 nett. I chose Honey because I remember reading that this flavour tastes best and true enough, it is very tasty because it is very crunchy despite being coated with honey which is just sweet enough.

9 9 promotion for Santan combo meals so I had to buy one set and I chose fried nasi lemak with fried chicken berempah because this is the only combo meal with chicken berempah. Nasi lemak combo meal just have fried chicken which I am not sure is fried chicken berempah or not so I didn't buy that as he preferred to eat fried chicken berempah.

I have some petai remaining from the previous day so I ate them with the kimchi fried rice. Delicious! Petai Kimchi fried rice is a powerful dish. After one has eaten it, one would have the power to repel humans. Physical distancing would be easy to maintain as people would stay away.

I thought the egg would be scrambled into the fried rice so I added it only to find out it is a standalone fried egg with a bit of runny yolk. Takeaway extra charges at MYR 2 nett. Total price is MYR 38 nett for KyoChon takeaways.

9 9 promotion gives a discount of MYR 7.10 nett which is quite a lot for just one takeaway combo meal from Santan.

Day off for me so it is Dine-in 11 as it has been quite a long time, around 6 months since I last had Japanese cuisine. Two ala carte dishes because we didn't want to eat rice in the set lunch.

12 noon - our favourite salmon shioyaki in a set meal by adding about MYR 10 at Rakuzen, Gardens Mall.

Total bill is MYR 108.10 nett due to the unagi dish.

2.20 pm - Dine-in 12 for coffee time. A glass of hot cham (coffee mix tea) and cucur udang to go with it. I don't remember that this cucur udang tastes so good previously when we ate it in this Ah Cheng laksa eatery.

If we have waited until 3 pm, there are various tea sets with drinks and cucur udang but we couldn't wait so we pay the normal price for both at a total of MYR 12.50  nett.
