MV-7-5-27 after 30 years meetup

On Saturday 25.july.2026, both of us are meeting up with 7 friends at 12 noon, one of whom we haven't met since 1995 the year we graduated which is 30+ years ago. Early morning, we went to Chun Heong Lucky Garden Bangsar to eat our favourite 3jc noodles.

7.37 am - we shared one bowl of dry 3jc with one hot cham aka coffee mix tea.

*** Midvalley mall ***

No q at oriental Kopi so we shared ala carte hot white coffee, kaya butter toasts and 2 soft boiled eggs. Total between MYR 19 to MYR 20 nett.

8.26 am - travelator under maintenance.

8.27 am - Halla Holla is opened.

8.50 am - saw this dish at paradise restaurant: salad gulung dengan sos bijan buatan sendiri aka rolled salad leaves with diy sesame sauce dip. The rolled salad leaves in the menu seem to be rolled up raw lettuce leaves.

*** Zok Noodle House Midvalley Mall ***

9 pax ate and chit chat from 12 noon till 4 pm.

12.28 noon - I ordered mixed beef bowl MYR 27.90++ and red bean milk MYR 10.90++

12.29 noon - the tripe, tendon, beef briskets are tender and tasty 😋 no rice no noodles in this dish.

12.34 noon - he ordered trotters dry noodles MYR 19.90++ and hot green tea MYR 4.50++

After chit chatting from 12 noon to 3 pm, we ordered another round of food. Desserts this time.

3.06 pm - we ordered hot ten years aged tangerine peel red bean tong sui and white fungus red dates goji peach gum tong sui MYR 6.90++ x 2 

4 pm - total: MYR 338.35 nett.  We each paid our own meals. For us 2 pax MYR 89.32 nett for the 6 items we ordered. Please click on the above image to read the text.

After we adjourned, both of us went to eat herbal jelly MYR 16 nett and I ordered a herbal drink MYR 4 nett.

Parking fees MYR 10 nett from 8 am to about 5 pm.

MV-7-2-24 Daging Gepuk vs Rendang

On Wednesday 8.july.2026, very early at 7 am, went to Thong Kee Sri Petaling to eat breakfast. After that went to foc job for about two hours. At 10.20 am, went to Midvalley mall to drop off Preloved items to the charity store and ate lunch at Ayam Gepuk Hut.

11.11 am - this time I ordered ala carte daging rendang MYR 15+ and it turned out to be thick creamy curry beef slices which I like 😋 

So for Ayam Gepuk Hut:

1. Order daging rendang will get similar to curry beef slices

2. Order daging Gepuk will get similar to the usual beef chunks rendang 

For the main rice dish, I ordered sotong gepuk rice MYR 17.90+

The sotong aka squid is tender and tasty.

Both sotong gepuk and salted egg yolk sotong are tasty 😋 

Will definitely eat squid and beef here again because I like the taste.

MV-6-4-22 Daging Gepuk

On Sunday 28.june.2026, went to Midvalley mall for food and then Taman Desa to buy madopar.

*** Ayam Gepuk Hut Midvalley Mall ***

10.10 am - combo B: ayam gepuk + daging gepuk or daging rendang MYR 22.90+

I chose mild level of spiciness so they gave us the green sambal only which is also spicy. Next time I will choose non spicy.

There is one piece of tofu, one piece of tempeh, caramelized cabbage. 

The daging gepuk and ayam gepuk are both tasty. The chicken is tender and flavourful 😋 

10.10 am - ala carte daging rendang which is on the sweet side

10.33 am - my portion. The rice is soft so I like it.

11.14 am - pick your spicy level:

Hot 🥵 🔥>medium>mild>non spicy

I will select non spicy for future visits

His hot no sugar cham MYR 3.30 nett.

1.02 pm - ytf brinjal, bitter gourd, okra, white tofu, red chili in soup. We select full fish paste so the price is MYR 3.50 nett per piece.

On Monday 1.jun.2026, went to many places.

Early morning both of us went for breakfast.

8.30 am my friend picked me up and went to make a delivery at wangsa permai kepong.

Dropped off 6 items for certification at pj and went to Midvalley Mall for lunch. Went to PJ to collect the items. When back, we went to the new eatery in Sri Petaling called Palo for their opening promo MYR 9.90++ set meals for early dinner.

The upstairs dining area is only opened at 9 am so we had to queue and wait for seats even though we arrived early at 7.10 am because the downstairs dining area is full.

7.31 am - he ordered curry chicken wanton noodles MYR 10+ because he used the shop self service tablet to input the order online and nasi lemak chicken is not available in the online menu no idea why.

My friend ordered pork Bolognese mata kerbau pasta MYR 32.90++ and requested for no cheese

I think my friend would have liked the tomato  pasta with pork sausage better.

11.32 am - I like this dish very much because it is a grilled sourdough cheese sandwich with crispy pork belly bacon 🥓 and scrambled eggs toppings 😋 my treat

On Saturday 30.may.2026, went to OUG morning market because I wanted to visit a stall but the stall is not opened today so tomorrow we are going there again. Peninsula Kopitiam oug has a long queue today so we ate brunch at Yang Kee and will go to peninsula Kopitiam tomorrow earlier.
