Claypot Old Soup

On Monday 6.july.2026, went out twice for food.

He saw this new eatery in happy garden serving claypot soup boiled over traditional stove for long hours so we went there to try the soup.

11.35 am - he ordered black beans chicken soup MYR 58+

The soup is thick and flavourful. We took the remaining soup home as we drank 3 bowls and the claypot soup is for 4 or 5 bowls.

11.32 am - he also ordered oil rice char siew and roast pork MYR 13+

Total MYR 75.80 nett with 50+ cent for the soup container.

Hand Pulled Danish Bread

On Friday 2.aug.2024, early morning he went to service the 🛞 285 for 30 minutes only and then picked me up for brunch at his chosen place, thong Kee Sri Petaling. Then in the evening, went to collect item and he drank soup at Tim won.

*** Thu 1.aug.2024 ***

Yesterday he saw Verona bakery PBJ had the millefeuille toast MYR 14.90 and hand pulled danish MYR 13.90 so he quickly took the tray for me and ask me to go buy them. This time the queue to pay took 12 minutes and I bought a pandan chiffon cake MYR 11.90 for him. Total 40.7 nett

4.46 pm - hand pulled danish bread MYR 13.90 nett. Buttery and lightly sweet. Good as snack.

2.58 pm - bought these 3 items from Verona bakery PBJ.

1.21 pm - ah, there is fresh stock - about 12 loaves of millefeuille toast MYR 14.90 nett each so he quickly took a tray for me and asked me to buy even though he is not going to eat it becomes he doesn't eat butter in baked goods.

1.26 pm - still need to queue to pay. This time it took 12 minutes. Hand pulled danish and millefeuille toast on my tray.

1.29 pm - payment counter.

1.34 pm - after I have paid and went to look at the toast shelf, the millefeuille toast loaves are sold out in 12 minutes. Need to wait for the next batch.

4.29 pm - can see the many layers. The height of this loaf I bought is about 10 cm / 2.5 inches.

4.32 pm - the layers are not so clearly defined after I cut it cross section.

4.33 pm - very carefully I managed to peel one thin layer upwards. Butterfly and lightly sweet. Texture is lighter compared to hand pulled danish below which taste the same but with denser texture.

4.46 pm - denser texture for hand pulled danish.

He chose to go to Thong Kee Sri Petaling.

10.22 am - he chose all the items: rojak, curry puff, iced cham, soft boiled eggs and I only eat the remaining food.

10.28 am - Kai see hor fun with chicken pieces MYR 13 nett.

4.17 pm - after collected the item, he drank chicken herbal soup MYR 11 nett at Tim won. I drank a cup of iced cham MYR 4 nett.

Then when back, I ate all the remaining millefeuille toast and one section of the hand pulled danish.

*** Clear Freezer Food ***

1.16 pm - poured hot water into the frozen seaweed and noodles from monday 4 days ago and ate them all. 

1.42 pm - I ate all the remaining rice from Tue 16jul2024 about 16 days ago in it's frozen crunchy state.

2 pm - ate one piece of this deep fried pumpkin paste cake from Monday 4 days ago. Just put the whole frozen piece into the mouth and it will melt by itself in the mouth. 3 pieces back into the freezer.

2.25 pm - I just saw this burnt pot in the kitchen and asked him and he said the pot has been in this state for a long time already but I am quite sure it wasn't. What a mystery 🤔

Tasty Soup

On Monday 15.jan.2024, went early for breakfast and then to the care center to accompany the elderly for the vascular scan appointment at 10 am but when kid1 reached the care center at 9 am, kid1 decided to cancel grab that is on the way because the elderly looked too tired to go to the hospital. Requested the in house doctor to check the elderly instead.

Grab cancellation fees is MYR 3 nett.

10.29 am - he read online reviews that the soup is very tasty 😋 so went to the eatery to order one bowl of soup to try.

Dry scallops, 2 chicken drumsticks, fish maw, white fungus, button mushrooms and abalone mushrooms soup MYR 12 nett which is a very good price for this tasty soup.

5 prawns steamed with wine MYR 15 nett. He also bought curry ribs, vege chapfan with rice MYR 7 nett. I ordered a glass of Cham ping MYR 3 nett.

Although it is not his duty day, he bought takeaway soup MYR 12 nett, steamed eggs MYR 12 nett and one portion rice MYR 1 nett for the elderly lunch and served the food.

So sad to learn that the elderly didn't drink much of the soup and just left the remaining soup on the table to go bad 😔 😞 😢 just ate the chicken drumstick only, finished all the rice and steamed eggs but left almost all the minced meat in the steamed eggs. So wasteful.

10.51 am - the soup is sold from a stall outside this Sing Kee Kopi shop opposite Pearl Point.

10.50 am - he also bought steamed eggs MYR 12 nett for the elderly. There are minced meat, wax sausages and salted egg yolk in the steamed eggs.

7.02cm - his early breakfast of toasts, eggs and coffee MYR 8.40 nett. I bought takeaway bunga kantan fried mihun aka torch ginger flower with curry vegetables MYR 5.5 nett.

3.38 pm - he cooked coriander eggs and I ate the eggs with the mihun I bought.

11.22 am - the elderly bought many bunches of bananas so I ate 4 bananas.

Chicken Herbal Soup

On Friday 16.jun.2023, went to Pavilion Bukit Jalil and ate brunch at Oriental Kopi before buying a seat cushion MYR 79.90 nett for the elderly.

11.26 am - our brunch at Oriental Kopi pavilion Bukit Jalil.

11.23 am - we shared the mihun whole chicken leg but I ate all the butter kaya toasts because the chicken herbal soup is all his.

12.38 noon - total price is MYR 58.70 nett. He is very satisfied with the chicken herbal soup MYR 18.90++ which is tummy warming.

Tong Ho Omelette

On Thursday 9.feb.2023, went to 126 mix rice Sri Petaling to buy chapfan lunch for the Elderlies.

9.37 am - he cooked this Tong Ho vegetable Omelette for the both of us. He used 4 eggs for this omelette.

He used this variety of Tong Ho vegetable which is the LARGE LEAF TONG-HO 大 葉 茼 蒿 with a nice aromatic taste. This photo is downloaded from:

12.22 noon - he also cooked this pork ribs, bitter gourd, carrot, wood ear fungus, dried oysters soup without any salt. The soup is tasty enough with the taste of all the ingredients.

12.05 noon - his chapfan no rice from 126 mix rice eatery and he also prepared a seaweed sesame seeds side dish.

Fish Paste Mihun Soup

On Tuesday 7.jun.22, went out to buy food for ourselves and the Elderlies lunch.

8.36 am - fish paste aka 鱼滑 mihun soup bought the previous day from Sunny Food Republic Coffee shop in Sri Petaling at MYR 10 nett. I requested for both fish paste and fish balls. Can tell from the taste that both of them are made from more fish meat than other flour fillers. The fish balls are not as fine in texture as the fish paste so he prefers the fish paste. Next time will just buy the fish paste mihun. Do you prefer fish paste or fish balls? I believe they are made from the same ingredients so I don't know what is the difference between them apart from their shape.

The mihun is those thicker springy type used for fish head mihun soup so next time I will ask the seller whether or not they have those soft fine mihun which I like.

It was drizzling again in the morning so went out later at 11 am to drop off a book and to buy steam soup with rice from Kopitiam 95 Desa Petaling.

He wanted watercress soup but it was sold out. They only have:

1. Abc meat soup

2. Dark chicken herbal soup

3. Ten herbs meat soup

4. Ginseng chicken soup

So I bought ginseng chicken soup for him and dark chicken herbal soup for the Elderlies. A portion of soup is MYR 10 nett inclusive of a portion of rice. Brought own containers for both soup and rice.

1 pm - the ginseng chicken soup in the 2800 ml Container. I think the soup is only about 400 to 500 ml so this container can hold the soup very well without spilling because it is large and it has a rubber lining in the cover to fit better. The elderlies have remaining rice and braised meat dishes from their dinner on the previous day over ordered by kid 4 because the weekday dinner caterer is off on public holiday so we only need to provide them with a portion of soup.

1 pm - kid 4 over ordered pork trotter meat so the elderlies ate one portion and found the meat to be too lean so they gave us the remaining portion bought by kid 4 as extra food. True enough the meat is lean despite having the pork skin and pork fats underneath the skin so we ate that for lunch while they ate the remaining braised pork belly that kid 4 bought as add ons.

 

6 pm - pork mihun soup from Good Tea coffee shop Sri Petaling bought the previous day. He added in a half boiled egg when reheating this dish. The soup is just plain basic soup without strong garlic or shallot taste. It is not thick pork broth. There are no innards, only minced pork patty, pork slices, pork balls and vegetables. The mihun is thin mihun. So we will just stick to the pork noodles at Swee Hing Coffee shop.

Fa Cai Steam Soup Rice

On Friday 25.feb.22, we ordered 3 food deliveries mainly because I want to complete one challenge in Foodpanda.

12.08 noon - his lunch and dinner from Steam Soup and Rice from Fa Cai coffee shop in Sri Petaling.

No promo code is applicable for this order. From the menus that are exactly the same, I believe the food is the same as the steam soup and rice stall in Desa Petaling.

Watercress Soup

 Yesterday, Fri 9.apr.21, we went to Midvalley Mall for our weekly grocery shopping from 11.30 am to 1.50 pm. When we reached there, I was still feeling full from breakfast at home but he was hungry so we walked to Warung but they don't have beef rendang so we ate at the PopCorn Food Court instead.

Watercress soup and rice at MYR 8.90 nett. I went to buy some siew yuk from another stall for him for some variety.

From stall number 5, Kim Zen, watercress soup at MYR 7.30 nett and a bowl of white rice at MYR 1.60 nett.

From stall 20B, 21B Eight Treasure, a plate of siew yuk at MYR 15 nett and a bowl of spicy sour mustard greens at MYR 3.50 nett. This is the smallest portion of siew yuk but he couldn't eat them all and I am keeping my mask on so I am not eating anything. To solve this, I went to buy chapfan takeaway to store the remaining siew yuk.

Bought this rice with 2 vege dishes at MYR 6.70 nett from stall 1 which is the popular chap fan stall. Wanted to have enough space to put the siew yuk and mustard so just took very little of brinjal dish and yin choy dish.

He managed to squeeze both remaining siew yuk and mustard greens in.

3.39 pm - I ate a bowl of the food we brought back from the popcorn food court for my early dinner and didn't eat anything else for the rest of yesterday. The mustard greens dish is so appetising. The remaining food he ate for his dinner.

Hotpot kitchen at Midvalley Mall has a reopening after renovation. They has been at this spot since Sept 2017 which used to be occupied by Manmaru Udon restaurant back in 2014.

Now they are using the open concept with no walls enclosing their dining in customers.
