Eggs Vs Eggs

On Monday 30.sep.2024, went to Pavilion Bukit Jalil because I wanted to try the egg dishes in The Eight eatery.

*** The Eight PBJ ***

11.55 am - the menu recommends: volcano egg on nanyang curry rice. MYR 22.90+ for very flavourful umami curry gravy with belacan smell but not spicy. I somehow feel that it has a little bit similarity to Assam gravy but it is not sour. There are fish slices and squid slices in the curry gravy. The rice is plain white rice. The egg is a thin layer of egg covering the rice so I preferred the organic milk scrambled eggs because they are thicker.

11.56 am - organic milk scrambled egg with beef on rice MYR 18.80+ which I like because the scrambled egg is thick and fluffy without any milk taste. The beef slices are tender. The rice is plain white rice.

11.57 am - I also ordered ala carte no rice 3 meat combo MYR 48+ and choose BBQ pork, siew yuk, and Hainan chicken which they gave the wing and breast meat part. We took most of the meat here home in my container.

11.57 am - I chose a pot of hot tea at MYR 4+ each for the two of us. Only one type of tea is available - snow daisy tea which is chrysanthemum tea.

12.47 noon - the volcano egg dish seems to have more rice.

10.45 am - he ordered our favourite boneless chicken meat mihun because he is afraid the eight volcano eggs dish may have butter or milk in it and a breakfast set of eggs, Kaya butter toasts and coffee. Total MYR 36.90 nett.

10.46 am - the breakfast set with yummy eggs 😋 MYR 16.10 nett.

Delivery Food on Offer

On Sunday 29.sep.2024, I wanted to eat broccoli chapfan no rice today at Tuck tuck Tei Taman Desa but at 8.30 am the chapfan dishes weren't ready yet so I decided to go to ah muk Sri Petaling to eat pork skewers in satay sauce with nissin noodles soup instead but it only opens at 10 am. Therefore we ate a light meal at C+ cafe that opens at 8 am and planned to  move next door to ah muk Sri Petaling at 10 am but it didn't turn out as we planned. Story at the end.

Yesterday my Omad was completed at 8.30 am and today I ate my 1st meal after 8.30 am so that means I did a 24 hours water fasting unintentionally.

8.44 am - he ordered nasi lemak chicken chop set MYR 19.90+ which includes a small bowl of yin choy fish balls soup and a drink so he chose a cup of hot C+ coffee.

I wanted to eat ice cendol MYR 7.90+ but I was told it wasn't available so they asked me if I wanted the longan cincau ice MYR 7.90+ instead but I don't want it today, maybe another day so I replied no and ordered a glass of iced C+ coffee MYR 5.30+ instead.

8.46 am - we wanted to try their yong tofu at MYR 2.50+ per piece so I ordered 1 brinjal, 1 bitter gourd and 1 okra while he ordered 1 deep-fried bentong chives toupok so total price is MYR 10+ which is the mid range market price. The items are fresh and the fillings are fish paste. I didn't detect any pork taste in the ytf fillings. 

10 am - we sat in C+ coffee slowly sipping our drinks until 10 am when ah muk opens and then we walked over to it. Total C+ coffee bill is MYR 38.70 nett.

2.08 pm - salad atelier shopeefood delivery MYR 18.53 nett inclusive of a top-up of MYR 2 for direct delivery after redeeming shopeecoins and a discount e-voucher. Kale, broccoli, tomatoes, pumpkin, beetroot, capsicums without any dressings.

12.24 noon - shopeefood delivery from fa Lian herb shop oug, 3 x MYR 5 bottles herbal drinks and 7 tea eggs. Only a Max 10 items are allowed else I would have ordered 8 tea eggs and 4 bottles of herbal drink.

Ate 2 tea eggs, salad, bread, half avocado 🥑 and all the remaining banana cake from Jaya grocer bought 7 days ago.

After C+ coffee, the 2 of us walked into ah muk and sat at our usual 4-pax table as this is our 4th visit to this branch. There were many tables available as it has just opened at 10 am and then this staff which we have never seen during our previous visits pointed at a cramped corner 2-pax table which I take it as he wanted us to sit at that uncomfortable place so I said forget it and walked straight out of this branch never to eat here again. I will visit ah muk branch at Taman Desa instead in the future.

Double Layers Roof

On Saturday 28.sep.2024, at 7 am went to TST coffee shop formerly new Lian hin coffee shop for brunch.

7.26 am - my dry Hor fun braised lamb MYR 16.90 which is tasty but there is a lot of hor fun, way out of my comfort eating amount but I ate them all. There are 3 pieces of deep fried lard cubes mixed into the Hor fun noodles. I gave him two and I ate one because he doesn't want to eat 3 cubes. There are about 6 pieces of tender lamb on bones in this dish.

7.26 am - I also ordered one glass of iced cincau coffee MYR 4.90 whereas he ordered a large cup of hot hainam char drink MYR 3.60 with a bowl of pork mihun horfun and he was surprised that there are no livers and innards in his bowl of noodles. He wondered whether they sell innards or not but he didn't ask them about it. The pork noodles soup tastes of garlic and a bit of tong choy.

7.34 am - he also ordered kaya toasts with chilled butter MYR 3.50 and soft boiled eggs MYR 3.80 so total price for 6 items is MYR 42.20 nett. The  butter isn't as tasty as some butter that I have often eaten.

My omad is completed at 8.30 am.

Pruning Plants

On Friday 27.sep.2024, went to nearby million ocean coffee shop for brunch. He walked to Tim won coffee shop to buy trotters wanton noodles dry for his mid day early dinner after he pruned some plants in the front yard.

9.45 am - he almost always order this chicken meat curry noodles MYR 10 nett and I finished off the remaining mihun horfun for him.

9.53 am - his ice coffee o kosong and my iced  cham total MYR 6 nett for both drinks. I ordered roast duck breast meat and two braised eggs MYR 14 nett that I shared with him.

10 am - I have MYR 1 in coins that I want to use up and only MYR 5 notes so I bought 2 packs of kuih at MYR 3 nett each. I feel that these kuihs have less glutinous rice and more misc flours so the taste is not the best.

12.01 noon - 佐敦黯然销魂饭 aka Zuǒ dūn ànrán xiāohún fàn aka Jordan Sorrowful Rice. MYR 26.90+ 10% = MYR 29.60 nett. The char siew is tasty with layers of fats in between lean meat.

10.38 am - new eatery at pavilion Bukit Jalil: Jordan Hong Kong Cafe with opening promo. We walked to eat his pork noodle soup at like Mee Noodle House and then returned to this new eatery to try out their food.

1.40 pm - signature roasted pear with loquat and malva nut aka kembang semangkuk MYR 20.90 nett but they ran out of loquat and asked us to choose to replace loquat with yellow peach, peach gum or snow birdnest and he chose snow birdnest. He also selected hot instead of cold.

1.41 pm - menu with fresh pears, pear desserts, pear soup drinks. Supposed to be healthy, anti aging and cough relief. He suggested to try this hot pear dessert.

10.59 am - his everything noodles soup MYR 27.70 nett with slice meat, meat balls, livers, intestines and kidneys. Back in 2020, the price is MYR 14.90++ or MYR 15.90++ and now in 2024, it is MYR 23.90++

11.30 am - shop front. just exit pavilion Bukit Jalil from the door near kwong wah ais kacang shop and cross the road to the shops. This shop is facing the other side, not facing pavilion Bukit Jalil.

On Wednesday 25.sep.2024, went to Ming Hin for brunch with foc eggs. Later he noticed shopeefood has a very good value for money promo so he ordered satay delivery.

9.23 am - free 2 soft boiled eggs each on weekdays between 8 am to 10 am. He ordered luncheon meat egg toasts MYR 5.50 nett which we both shared.

9.14 am - he ordered hot cham MYR 2.50 nett and meat noodles soup small portion MYR 10.90 nett. I ordered curry chicken and toast MYR 10.90 nett. Total MYR 29.80 nett.

*** Raja Satay 1900 delivery ***

1.21 pm - shopeefood promo so he bought 10 chicken satay pack which includes gravy, cucumber, onion, half a tube of compressed rice aka ketupat. The chicken meat is all lean meat so is very suitable for me but I wish it could be softer for my weak teeth.

This pack is worth MYR 22.30 and the promo price is MYR 11.15 so after adding delivery fees MYR 4 and small order fees MYR 2.15, he used MYR 4 shopeefood discount evoucher and redeemed shopeecoins MYR 1.78, the total paid is MYR 11.53 nett inclusive of delivery fees which is offset totally by the evoucher.

On Tuesday 24.sep.2024, park car at pinnacle condo, eat brunch at Thong Kee Sri Petaling and then walk to Ho Jiak Mixed Rice to buy his takeaway early dinner chapfan no rice.
