Kit Kat Pink Ice Cream

On Tuesday 31.jan.2023, went to Golden Chopstick coffee shop to buy chapfan lunch for the Elderlies and himself.

10.46 am - saw this new kit Kat Pink Ice cream at the petrol station so bought one at MYR 4.90 to try.

10.47 am - ate it immediately in the car. Very nice with sourish dried strawberries in the coating so it doesn't feel that sweet.

The packaging says ice cream with cheesecake and strawberry flavoured coating, wafer and dried strawberry. I like the taste so I will buy it again.

11.35 am - he bought 3 packs of chapfan lunch MYR 23.50 from Golden Chopstick coffee shop.

12.43 noon - bought mcd for today and tomorrow. Need to buy MYR 88 worth to get MYR 15 off. The apple pies and nuggets are on promo.

Yam Fresh Pavilion Bukit Jalil

On Monday 30.jan.2023, went to Pavilion Bukit Jalil for food.

*** Wed 25.jan.2023 ***

12.07 noon - he wanted to order purple potato in sweet ginger soup but it was not available on this day so he ordered hot grass jelly while I ordered matcha ice with Customised toppings.

12.14 pm - there are taro balls in the grass jelly bowl on the right.

Matcha ice with selected toppings of matcha jelly, red bean, grass jelly, mashed purple potato and mix taro balls. Not that sweet and the matcha tastes authentic so I find it nice.

*** Fri 27.jan.2023 ***

10.53 am - this time the purple potato ginger soup is available but is at room temperature so he requested it to be reheated. I ordered coconut yam with purple rice which tastes like hak lo Mai tong sui.

This is the purple potato in ginger soup as shown in the menu. The order we got doesn't have chunks of purple potatoes in the bowl, just mashed up purple potatoes.

Total price is MYR 19.80 nett for two bowls of hot desserts.

3.37 pm - he cooked asparagus, mushrooms and ham for his dinner. I ate some of the asparagus.

Kaw Choy Omelette

On Sunday 29.jan.2023, went to Taman Desa for our food.

11.28 am - siew yuk MYR 10 from Tuck Tuck Tei chapfan stall which only has roast meat and no chapfan dishes so went to Sing Kee Kitchen to buy chapfan no rice dishes MYR 9 for kailan, choy sum and kaw choy omelette. I like to eat chives aka kaw choy omelette.

4.44 pm - he cooked daikon pork carrot soup and seaweed for his dinner.

Kaw Kaw Pakkopi Sri Petaling

On Saturday 28.jan.2023, he is on duty for the Elderlies' lunch and dinner. Went to Hiong Mei chapfan eatery to buy chapfan lunch. I bought ABC soup MYR 9 and 10 pieces of ytf MYR 2 each from lucky Alley coffee shop:

4 brinjal, 4 bitter gourd, 1 red chili and 1 okra ytf.

*** Tue 24.jan.2023 ***

3.30 pm - 4 deep fried sui Gao and 8 deep fried wantons.

10.18 am - I kept one portion of rice for subsequent days.

10.37 am - 4 sui Gao in soup.

Foodpanda delivery from Kaw Kaw Pakkopi Sri Petaling. Main purpose is to buy 3jc mihun soup for the elderly. I added on other items for his lunch and my omad.

*** Sat 28.jan.2023 ***

4.51 pm - dinner for 2 pax with 1 rice from Lau Home Cook. The two big flat patties are some sort of minced meat patties in red sauce. Could be vegetarian patties, he couldn't identify them from the taste. I didn't eat them so I don't know what they are.

5.17 pm - he packed a few items from Lau Home Cook and added one brinjal ytf, one bitter gourd ytf and one tea egg for one elderly.

5.17 pm - same items with some rice for elderly 2.

Two more Saturday dinners.

No Santan

On Friday 27.jan.2023, we went early to Pavilion Bukit Jalil because he wanted to eat brunch at Oriental Kopi so we need to be there early before there is a queue. Kid 1 is on duty for Elderlies' lunch. He bought 2 packs of chapfan dinner for the Elderlies from 126 mixed rice Sri Petaling on our way back from pavilion Bukit Jalil and cooked canned mackerel for the Elderlies.

*** Kwong Wah pavilion Bukit Jalil ***

1214 - we shared this deep fried whole chicken leg MYR 11.80 nett. Taste good.

1212 - ABC ice without Santan aka coconut milk. When I placed the order, the cashier asked me whether or not I am ok with ABC without Santan because they have ran out of santan and I said ok. The ABC feels lighter without the Santan so I could eat another bowl of abc if I wanted to.

*** Oriental Kopi pavilion Bukit Jalil ***

0930 - no queue yet! So he ordered our usual mihun fried chicken pieces. The usual breakfast set of kaya butter toast and eggs is not available. Only the mihun set is available but we don't want another plate of mihun so he ordered a cup of hot white coffee ala carte.

The total price is MYR 27.05 nett for one meal shared by 2 pax.

We also ate tong sui at Yam Fresh.

Pineapple Bolo Bun

On Thursday 26.jan.2023, kid 1 is on replacement day duty for the Elderlies' lunch so he bought dinner from Hiong Mei chapfan eatery which reopens today for the Elderlies.

*** Wed 25.jan.2023 ***

1038 - the Nanyang Cafe pavilion Bukit Jalil menu says this is a pineapple bun with pineapple paste so I expect it to have pineapple jam fillings. A glass of hot Cham drink to be shared by 2 pax.

1055 - the fillings turned out to be tiny pineapple cubes mixed with smashed up buttery egg custard. Quite ok.

1040 - 8 wantons in soup.

1042 - pork chop bun. I requested for no mayo because I want to keep the buns for the next day and just eat the pork chop.

1045 - just eat the pork chop.

Total price for 4 items is MYR 52.90 nett at Nanyang Cafe pavilion Bukit Jalil.

*** Thu 26.jan.2023 ***

1101 - he heated up all the remaining braised pork trotter and added in tea eggs for his lunch.

1556 - he cooked all the remaining soyknots with cabbage and wax sausages for his early dinner. I helped him to eat half of this dish.

1752 - I ate all the remaining rice from Tue, curry chicken from Mon and buns from wed.

Frozen Mackerel

On Wednesday 25.jan.2023, we went to Pavilion Bukit Jalil for food. Reached the mall at 10.20 am and saw that Oriental Kopi has a long queue so we ate brunch at Nanyang Cafe.

 Kid 1 is back so will take care of the Elderlies' lunch. He is on Elderlies' dinner duty.

*** Tuesday 24.jan.2023 ***

10.19 am - he cooked mushrooms wax sausages omelette and asparagus for one Elderly's lunch in a bento with added macadamia nuts and cherry tomatoes. Ordered 3jc soup mihun from kaw kaw pakopi Sri Petaling via Foodpanda delivery.

4.40 pm - he shallow fried frozen Mackerel with turmeric and stir fried frozen seafood mix with carrots and cucumbers for the Elderlies' dinner.

CNY Day 3

On Tuesday 24.jan.2023, he will be providing lunch and dinner for the Elderlies on this day too.

*** Monday 23.jan.2023 ***

1200 - the Elderlies lunch. Early morning, he reheated the vegetarian dish and he cooked:

1. Curry chicken with a packet of A1 curry paste that he found in the Elderlies' fridge.

2. Ching Long Vege chives with bunapi mushrooms and wax sausages.

1800 - the Elderlies dinner. He added lettuce to the reheated braised pork trotters. Curry chicken and vegetarian dish from lunch.

CNY Day 2

On Monday 23.jan.2023, he will be cooking both lunch and dinner for the Elderlies.

*** Sunday 22.jan.2023 ***

1820 - Dinner for the Elderlies. He cooked the lettuce. The two Bak Kut Teh and steamed chicken dishes are bought from Kim Zen stall in popcorn food court in midvalley mall.

1030 - Elderlies' lunch. He cooked purple vege and the vegetarian dish.

1313 - his lunch - old cucumber ribs soup MYR 8.9 from Kim Zen and roast pork MYR 16.90 from the roast meat stall in popcorn food court.

CNY Day 1

On Sunday 22.jan.2023, 新年快乐，万事如意！to everyone! Today is another day of him cooking and providing food for the Elderlies.

*** Saturday 21.jan.2023 ***

1821 - his reunion dinner with the Elderlies. He reheated the bought braised pork trotter and added coriander, steamed 2 goose liver Sausages and 2 duck liver Sausages, and cooked a mustard leaves with carrots, mushrooms, soy sticks dish.  

This is the mustard leaves dish which I also ate for my sat omad.

This is the dish he cooked for the Elderlies' CNY day lunch: stirfry napa cabbages, glass noodles, soyknots, dried oysters, mushrooms, soy puffs with nam Yue and Fu Yue. He cooked a huge portion so this small portion is for us.

Nonexistent Reunion Dinner

On Saturday 21.jan.2023, he woke up at 5.30 am to cook and prep food since he is cooking lunch and reunion dinner for the Elderlies. 

All chapfan stalls are closed throughout CNY so he will be super busy cooking meals every CNY day for the Elderlies as he is the only one on duty for all their meals for the CNY duration since kid 1 went back to the spouse's hometown, kid 2 is in Australia to visit the kid who is studying there and kid 4 is staying put with the oversea spouse. I will suggest places to buy takeaway food so that he doesn't need to cook every meal.

11.24 am - the Elderlies' lunch: pork mihun soup from Leong wei coffee shop, steamed frozen Siu Mai bought by kid 1 from the freezer and his bento of mint leaves omelette with cherry tomatoes.

Early morning, he cooked this mint leaves omelette, my favourite! Yums! 😋😋😋

1 day to CNY!

It is CNY eve today!

Reunion Dinner is the custom but none for me as I am still staying home.
