Two days in a row

Mee Rebus at MYR 15.21 nett (after 5% discount with member card) at Medifoods, SS2 PJ. I chose mee hoon and my friend could not accept the thought of eating mee hoon as mee rebus. The ingredients seem to be the same as Lontong, Medifoods but the broth is very different. This broth is a bit on the sweet side.

I also bought Rainbows Sprouted Bread 7 Grains.

The next day, we went to Chow Yang Kopitiam where I ordered mee rebus again with yellow noodles thiis time at MYR 6.50 nett and one coconut juice at MYR 5.50 nett.

Messy Mee

This is supposed to be Mee Jawa but it looks really bad and it does not taste that good either. Definitely not coming back for this again.

Sang Har Mee

When we walked into the Low Mee coffee shop in Batang Kali, we asked them to recommend some dishes to us and Sang Har Mee (Fresh water prawns noodles) was in the list. We did not ask for the price but straight away order a portion for 1 person so imagine our surprise when the dish arrived looking like this.

The Prawns were huge! There were 4 halves in the plate above making it 2 huge prawns so it is definitely not a portion for 1 person in our books so we were guessing among the 3 of us, how much this dish will cost - we would have to pay the price for not asking for the price before ordering.

Can see the creamy golden roe in the prawns which tastes like sea urchin roe. The flesh is thick and firm. The yee mee was hidden underneath the prawns. Delicious dish! So what do you think was the price?

Once a month, during Sunday or a Public Holiday, we would take the trouble to drive down to Imbi just to have breakfast.

Pork noodles - MYR7 - with pork intestines, livers, pork meat slices and pork kidney in a sweet porky soup.

My favourite Char Kway Teow - MYR6 - dry and not salty as I requested the vendor not to put any salt in it and he kindly obliged. The portion is small so between the both of us, we will always order another bowl of noodle as this is a once a month visit.

This is the other bowl of noodle that we will order every time - Pork Meat Balls Noodles (Sam Kan Chong) - MYR8 - the noodle is full of the taste of lard with the minced pork in it. A glass of Cham Ping (iced mixed coffee and tea) costs MYR2.20 and there are many other stalls here - selling mini egg tarts (very popular and long queue), chicken rice, chee cheong fun and etc but every time we will only order from these 3 stalls.

See the cars parked alongside the shop - it is always fully packed with customers inside so you need to be really early if you want to avoid the crowd.

Just Carb

Today at the morning market, I bought the following food items. Each packet costs only MYR 2. I ate one quarter portion from each of the packet because the rest were eaten by my family and was very full but extremely thirsty for the rest of the day. Despite all these, I find the food quite tasty and sometimes I have cravings to eat them.

Glutinous rice with peanuts and anchovies.

Noodles with a bit of bean sprout.
