Herbal Duck Noodles Soup

On Monday 3.nov.2025, went to Yitcha kaw kaw Sri Petaling for brunch and then bought pastries and a cake from TK bakery. This weekend TK Bakery Sri Petaling branch is having 20% off all items and 30% off all cakes.

8.45 am - our must-order breakfast set MYR 10.90++ of kaya butter thin toasts, hot white coffee and 2 soft boiled eggs.

I ordered two hard boiled eggs which they put one each in one bowl. The eggs are too white so they are invisible in the two white bowls in the photo above 😂 MYR 1.50++ each

He ordered herbal duck leg wanton mee soup MYR 18.90++ which I drank all the herbal soup and I was not thirsty after that so confirm no msg 👍 😋 

He also ordered barley bean curd dessert soup MYR 3.90++ which I find too sweet for me.

Total MYR 42.55 nett.

9.59 am - he selected 6 pastries in the category of hot pastry buy 5 free 1 which means out of 6 pastries, the cheapest pastry will be free. We chose:

1. Egg tart MYR 3.30 which is free as it is the cheapest

3. Siew bao 3.7

4. Meat puff 3.7

5. Black sesame egg tart 3.8

6. Chen pi red bean pastry 4.2 

Chen pi means orange peel and I can taste the orange peel in the red bean paste fillings. The taste is similar to dried sour salty plums aka shuen moi

Then I bought one butter cake MYR 13.30 nett

They gave us one foc cup of hot drink for spending over MYR 25 nett in one receipt and he chose white coffee ☕

Best Bone Soup

On Sunday 2.nov.2025, went to Hog kitchen by hk pork noodle Sri Petaling for omad because on weekends they open earlier at 9.30 am instead of 10.30 am on weekdays.

10.10 am - I drank all the soup of the bowl of pork items without noodles which is the bigger bowl with more lettuce. The bone soup is tasty 😋 and I don't feel thirsty after drinking the whole bowl of soup so confirm no msg. It has pork slices, livers, stomachs, intestines, clumps of minced pork, deep fried lards, all for MYR 23+

The smaller bowl has the same items with very thin yee mee MYR 16+ 

He also ordered a hot honey goji drink MYR 5.50+

Total MYR 44.50 + MYR 4.45 eq MYR 48.95 nett

With just this meal, I completed my meals for this day.

Beef Leeks Quiche

On Saturday 1.nov.2025, went to Midvalley mall for food after I ate the remaining sweet potatoes at home at 8.54 am.

10.28 am - he ordered curry chicken with fried rice and poached egg MYR 21.90+

10.23 am - he also ordered hot white coffee MYR 7.90+ and toasts with half boiled eggs MYR 6.90+

Total MYR 40.35 nett.

After eating bread and rice, I walked around the Gardens Mall looking for more food but food without bread and without rice and without noodles or pasta. I looked at the menu of Marco restaurant and also Snitch by the Thieves cafe. Both eateries have suitable food but the portion is a large so I didn't eat at both eateries. Next time, maybe.

Then to my surprise, I saw quiche in the menu of Padi House, no bread, no rice, no noodles, no pasta, portion is not that big and price is below MYR 30 so I went and try it and it turned out to be tasty 😋 so I will have it again next time.

11.34 am - I ordered streaky beef and leek quiche MYR 23.90+ and a cup of hot cham MYR 6.90+

11.33 am - the portion is just right for me.

Uji ryo supreme is shaved ice with matcha sorbet, roast rice tea hojicha sorbet, matcha jelly, sweet potato glutinous rice mini rolls, red beans toppings. A separate bowl of thick matcha tea no sugar non sweet is included too.

12.46 noon - a lot of ice so I was very full after eating this whole ice dessert.

And he chose to go to Mountain Hill roadside Shed at Taman Serangkai because hog kitchen is not opened yet and we haven't been to mountain hill for quite some time now. Hog kitchen current opening time is at 10.30 am for weekdays and 9.30 am for weekends.

9.22 am - he ordered iced Cham MYR 3.2 nett and pork noodles soup with added livers MYR 13.50 nett.

9.28 am - I ordered a small portion of prawns HK ccf MYR 8 nett.

9.42 am - car is parked at the back of the shed

10.09 am - he bought takeaway roast pork MYR 10 nett. Juicy meat with crispy skins 😋 

12.57 noon - he also bought steamed village chicken and chicken gizzards livers with ginger dip MYR 11 nett. He took some pieces of roast pork and put them together with the chicken.

Village chicken is quite similar to free range chicken lean with less fat. He says there is a slight taste that he needs to get used to. He says he can taste it in the chicken livers too. I ate a piece of chicken liver but I couldn't taste anything out of the ordinary.

At home, I finished off the remaining two slices of green gardenia whole meal bread with double churned scs butter and completed my meals for this day.

Frozen Fish Fillet Soup

On Thursday 30.oct.2025, he cooked frozen fish fillets spinach salted egg soup. Before that we walked to nearby shops for his breakfast.

8.31 am - pork trotters noodles 13 and hot Cham 2.50 which he ordered and ate drink all as I just watched him eat the food. I didn't eat anything because I need to clear the remaining food from the previous day.

10.53 am - fish fillets, spinach, wolfberries, ginger, salted egg soup that he cooked.

11.16 am - the frozen toman fish fillets. The texture is on the soft side because I read online articles that say the fish fillets are soaked in a polyphosphate solution to help them retain moisture.

*** Clear Fridge Food ***

1.28 pm - after eating the fish spinach soup, I ate the remaining food from the previous day. Underneath the two cubes of peanut butter eggy toasts are a piece of salmon and nasi lemak peanuts anchovies. I ate the salmon with a slice of wholemeal bread.

2.44 pm - this is the white coffee drink that he didn't like from Eat Toast eatery the previous day. I put it in the freezer and ate it as shaved ice dessert. Taste good as shaved ice dessert 😋

8.06 am - early morning, he steamed sweet potatoes 🍠 and I ate 3 pieces. One piece tastes similar to chestnut, very fragrant.

10.18 am - this Krispy Kreme is opposite oriental Kopi. They are having a MLBB limited doughnuts promo.

10.21 am - the usual breakfast set. I prefer coconut kaya so we always order coconut kaya toasts here instead of pandan kaya toasts.

10.26 am - he ordered deep fried boneless chicken pieces but the staff convinced him to buy the nasi lemak deep fried boneless chicken pieces because it is only MYR 3 more at MYR 18.90++ so I brought the remaining rice home as we have plans to eat at more eateries.

12.09 noon - the slightly seared thin beef slices are delicious 🤤 😋 and perfect for my weak teeth. I ate the beef with the thinly sliced raw onions which are below the beef.

12.13 noon - vegetables tempura with enoki, green peppers, sweet potato, shiitake mushroom, okra and Brinjal 7.36

1.26 pm - I ordered hot white coffee ☕ less sweet for him but he didn't like it because it tastes diluted although it has a deep roasted smoky aroma. Furthermore he says it has too much milk so I took it home. I ate two cubes of the peanut butter eggy toasts 😋 and took two cubes home. 

He didn't eat the toasts at all because he noticed condensed milk was sprinkled on top of the eggy toasts. I like the taste of this peanut butter eggy toasts so I will order it again.

I ordered two fried eggs and ate his remaining food.

On Sunday 26.oct.2025, he wanted to go to the newly opened Southern Kopi cafe branch in Bukit Jalil at Jalil Link. He found out in advanced that there would be a queue so he wanted to be there before they open at 7.30 am.

We reached there at 7.25 am and wrote our name on the queue list. There were 24 names on the list so there were 24 groups of customers there before the cafe opens at 7.30 am.

7.44 am - two soft boiled eggs for him MYR 2.90+

A small cup of hot cham aka coffee mixed tea MYR 4.90+

For me, ABC ice dessert MYR 8.50+ which tastes ok, nice 🤠 

7.54 am - he chose Crispy Fried Calamari Claypot Nasi Lemak MYR 17.90+

The calamari is coated with batter and deep fried.

8 am - I chose scrambled eggs mushrooms on toast with baked beans, broccoli 🥦, carrots and tomatoes MYR 15.90+ which is fine, acceptable.

8.10 am - he then added two items: 

Classic flaky egg tart MYR 2.90+ which he likes

BBQ chicken snowy bun MYR 5.90+ which he says he can taste milk so he has to eat baked beans immediately after eating the snowy bun to cover the milk taste.

8.14 am - cross section of the snowy bun.

So at 8.30 am, I have completed my meals for the day and didn't eat anything after that until the next day.
