I start my lunch with this green tea soft serve and jelly dessert at MYR 11.99+ (10% service charge = MYR 13.18 nett). The green tea taste is very light but the burnt sugar syrup lifted the taste.

Hong TaoYuen Eatery

This is supposed to be seafood noodles but my friend and I requested for fish slices only. They replied that the fish slices are from toman fish aka giant snakehead fish when we asked. The price for this special order is the same as the seafood noodles which is MYR 10.50 nett. I chose horfun mixed with mee hoon whereas my friend chose lou su fan.

Restoran Hong TaoYuen at Taman Connaught, Cheras. They are somewhat related to the OUG Seafood Pork Noodle aka Hong Cha as the noodles that they serve are similar and they also put the OUG name on their signboard.

Decades Cafe

They served us a complimentary plate of chee cheong fun and chee cheong fun with fillings for us to try once we were seated. Such good service. We were at Decades Cafe after noticing it last weekend when we ate at Little Jungle Coffee House.

I have eaten this tasty ccf at Hai Keng many times so I am happy that they are available at more places now.

They are freshly made too.

Stir fried ccf at MYR 7 nett. Good wok hei, so tasty! The ccf is soft so I like it even more. Very crispy bean curd sheets.

Combo Set 2 at MYR 6.90 nett with soya ccf and white coffee. My friend could taste soya in the ccf but I could not.

My barli bean curd sweet dessert broth at MYR 3.50 nett.

48HSBD4 cakes too sweet

Cakes to celebrate a birthday! I can't believe that the last time I ate cakes in Secret Recipe is way back in March 2017 which is a little more than two years ago. I like the black forest cake here so we went for the promo where we get one slice of premium black forest cake (left) and one slice of the usual black forest cake (right) at MYR 18 nett. The slice of chocolate banana cake costs MYR 10.73 nett after 10% service charge and 6% SST. The premium black forest cake is filled with cherries soaked in syrup and the normal price is about MYR 11++ I believe so it is very tasty. The usual black forest cake has too much whipped cream as can be seen in the photo above.

Secret Recipe at Midvalley Mall, KL after its recent renovation. It used to look like this.

Before we went for cakes, the four of us had our lunch at Zun Express, Midvalley Mall, KL. Mee Hoon Soup with Ginger Wine and Egg lunch set at MYR 16.80 nett. The soup is too diluted so the wine taste is not strong enough but the fried egg tastes good.

I like the Spare ribs set lunch so much that I ordered it again to share at MYR 19.80 nett. I also recommend the Lotus Leaf Rice set lunch to my friend at MYR 16.80 nett.

Total bill for 4 pax with 3 set lunch orders is: MYR 53.40 nett. An average of MYR 13.35 nett per pax.

WG Cafe Beside You

Roast Chicken Rice Bowl Lunch Set at MYR 15 nett. We requested for hard boiled eggs instead of the default Onsen Eggs but the egg is still raw like in the photo. My friend did not like the gravy used for the chicken but she finished eating the chicken but left the parts of rice that are soaked in the gravy unfinished.

My unagi rice bowl lunch set at MYR 16 nett. The Onsen Egg here is more like a soft boiled egg on the way to be a hard boiled egg but still with runny yolk so I took both eggs home and recooked them to be fully cooked with half of my rice. The pieces of unagi are a bit on the thin side but acceptable.

Canned fruits and jellies in a sweet custard/milky broth which I did not drink after I finished eating the sweet, sweet jellies and pieces of fruit.

Kampar Curry at MYR 11.90 nett. This price includes a drink from 8 choices. My friend says that this curry noodle is as authentic as can be because it tastes of home for her.

My ala carte pumpkin drink without any sugar at MYR 4 nett. My friend gave me one piece of deep fried tofu and one roll of deep fried bean curd (2 segments) from her Kampar Original Noodle because she does not want to eat deep fried food items. I did not eat any noodles because I was still full from my breakfast.

These 3 drinks are included in the noodles set. Just need to top up 50 cents to get a glass of white coffee.
