On Sunday 31.dec.2023, early morning he went over to prepare breakfast for the elderly. Then we went to MyTown Mall MYR 6 nett parking from about 11 am to 3 pm, to recycle some items and then walked to MRT Cochrane to go to MRT Pasar Seni MYR 1.80 nett x 2 x 2 to eat brunch at Luck Bros Kopi which used to be known as Luckin Kopi.

12.13 noon - Iced coffee kaw MYR 5.90++ and Cendol MYR 6.90++ The syrup for the Cendol is served separately by default.

12.27 noon - basically we just ordered the items on the bestseller page in the menu. The chicken tastes good 😊👍 The rice of the nasi lemak has cloves aka bunga cengkih herb in it so the rice is flavourful.

The salted egg chicken chop is a piece of boneless whole chicken leg so it is good value for money 👍 at MYR 15.80++ only. Then I quickly took the MRT back to MyTown Mall and speed walked to the WC while he walked leisurely.

3.10 pm - bought congee MYR 9 nett from Fatty Mok eatery and served it to the elderly.

10.45 am - sent some items to the recycling bins at B1 Ikea Car Park.

10.51 am - he sent some of his gadgets to this CeX aka Complete Entertainment eXchange and got back a nominal fee.

*** Countdown to 2024 ***

Happy 2024 everyone! Doing countdown anywhere? Many people in the Klang valley go up Gen Ting to celebrate the countdown. I am just staying at home.

One of my friends is having this lobster roll Burger & Lobster eatery in Gen Ting now. There is a branch in Suria KLCC. Maybe I will try it one day in 2024.

Before breakfast reading in the morning 8.6 mmol/l due to having diamicron meds again. Normally should be around 5.3 mmol/l for healthy people.

CNY Snacks

On Saturday 30.dec.2023, early morning he went over to prepare breakfast for the elderly. Then we went for brunch at Swee Hing coffee shop.

8.26 am - knuckle wanton Mee MYR 11 nett and two drinks MYR 5.90 nett.

8.34 am - prawn mihun Mee MYR 10 nett. We shared all the food. My omad is completed.

8.20 am - Swee Hing coffee shop has started selling CNY snacks and goodies.

At 5.30 pm, he went to buy soup MYR 7 nett and fried rice MYR 11 nett for the elderly at Tim Won coffee shop. Also bought 10 chicken satay, 5 beef satay, 1 ketupat for himself from Fatty Mok eatery. Saw left rear tyre is flat so went to have it fixed.

*** Status ***

The elderly called him to say difficult to breathe but doesn't want to go ER so he asked the elderly to manage the emotion as the elderly is annoyed at the staff for not attending to the elderly immediately when requested and because of feeling cross, it affected the breathing in one way or another. Sometimes need to be considerate to the staff as there are so many elderlies needing care, the staff needs to attend to them one by one so some waiting is to be expected.

Braised Dishes

On Friday 29.dec.2023, went to a nearby place that we have never been to, for brunch.

*** K88 Food Court Taman Goodwood ***

11.32 am - He ordered the 5 dishes set MYR 23 nett and selected braised ribs, belly, ears, stomach and knuckles but was given some large intestines because not enough ears to make a portion. He chose to have congee MYR 1 nett instead of rice.

10.55 am - This is the Braised Dishes stall in K88 Food Court Taman Goodwood. Not ready yet so we waited till 11.10 am for the stall to start operating for the day.

11.26 am - Total price for 5 braised dishes and 1 bowl.of congee MYR 24 nett.

11.42 am - My portion of his remaining congee and braised items. I had to eat lots of the very appetising sourish and only very slightly spicy dip to cover the strong taste of the big intestines.

11.20 am - I also bought yin choy, bitter gourd and one braised egg, total MYR 5 nett, from the chapfan stall. The iced Cham drink MYR 3.70 nett has cocoa taste instead of coffee taste.

K88 Food Court, big and spacious. Not many people because it is still too early for lunch.

12.19 noon - The top photo of char siew MYR 18 nett is bought from Tian Hong eatery.

The bottom siew yuk and char siew is only MYR 11 nett, bought from the roast meat stall in K88 Food Court. The siew yuk meat is quite firm and the skin is crispy.

12.56 noon - I ate the remaining half of yam puff and the century egg lotus paste pastry. Also ate half the salted egg yolk lotus paste pastry.

*** Unbleached Roasted Pistachios ***

12.25 noon - Received the 1 kg roasted unbleached pistachio that I bought via shopee for MYR 58.27 nett from mrnuts32 store. Tasty. The small pack is FOC sample smokey roasted cashew nuts.

Babi Guling Petaling Street

On Thursday 28.dec.2023, he went over to accompany the elderly to the hospital to have a fasting blood test for the cardiologist appointment in Jan 2024. Yesterday 1 elderly, today 1 elderly. Both times kid1 didn't help.

After the blood test, he and the elderly grab to Ken ki Taman midah coffee shop to have brunch and then grab back around 10 am. After that, we grab MYR 13 nett to Petaling Street and had a local cuti cuti as we haven't been there for 3 or 4 years and visited the places below:

9. MRT Pasar Seni to Naga Mas MYR 3.7 x 2 and walked home to burn off the calories. Around 1100 m. Was back at 3 pm. A very nice sightseeing and food short trip. 11.30 am to 3 pm, 3.5 hours only.

11.46 am - ordered two dishes which are the best sellers. The pork meat in both dishes is very tasty with fats that melt in the mouth.

These two dishes are the best sellers. Online reviews say that the pork rinds are crispy even when bought via food delivery services.

11.46 am - Also ordered a plate of deep fried pork rinds. Very crispy and light. The soup has light peppery taste and garlic taste. The glass noodles are QQ springy.

11.42 am - the eatery is called Crispy Pork Noodles Soup and online it says open at 11.30 am.

12.19 noon - it occupies half a shop unit.

12.16 noon - Total price MYR 46.32 nett.

1.15 pm - I ordered pandan pancakes dessert with two drinks. After this dessert, my food for this day is completed so I didn't eat anything else after that before calling it a day.

1.23 pm - Hot lemon grass ginger tea and cold jasmine tea long black coffee.

1.14 pm - Nice green potted plants. He took these two photos.

1.15 pm - More greens.

1.03 pm - This eatery uses beepit ordering app.

1.54 pm - Total price is MYR 62.64 nett.

3.54 pm - 6.4 mmol/l after 2 hours.

*** Bunn Choon ***

4.27 pm - He bought these pastries. He ate half the yam puff and says it is very tasty.

4.31 pm - He ate some of them as I couldn't eat any more. Too full. The century egg ginger pastry is very tasty 🤤😋 I can tell by just the aromatic smell of the ginger.

1.59 pm - The pastry counter at Bunn Choon. They also serves dine-in dim sum. He would have preferred to dine in here for the egg tarts instead of Merchants Lane.

Coconut Husk

On Wednesday 27.dec.2023, woke up at 5.30 am in order to take the elderly for a blood test.

10.01 am - siew yuk roasted over coconut husk fire.

11.03 am - ate all the remaining lamb and pulled lamb directly from the fridge.

Late Meal

On Tuesday 26.dec.2023, he went over to prepare breakfast for the elderly. At about 10 am, we went to Dwitasik to ask for more info so dropped by 126 mixed rice Sri Permaisuri for brunch and to buy takeaway lunch for the elderly but the dishes are not ready yet so we just ate brunch at RHB eatery nearby.

Bought chapfan lunch MYR 9 nett from Tim Won coffee shop for the elderly and stopped by to serve it but the elderly says not hungry so we just put the chapfan on the dining table. Later at 4 pm, went to Tim Won again to buy soup for the elderly but the stall is not opened yet so we bought bkt instead. Also ate bit there.

*** RHB eatery Sri Permaisuri ***

10.28 am - his rice MYR 2 with veges MYR 4 and onion chicken leg MYR 9 so his plate of rice is MYR 15 nett. Nescafe hot MYR 3.70 nett. My squid rojak aka rojak sotong MYR 10.30 nett. The onion chicken is on the sweet side, so is the rojak sauce and squid gravy. We shared all the food.

Total price is MYR 29 nett.

10.26 am - this is the rojak stall which tempted me to order rojak.

*** BKT Toh Guan ***

4.01 pm - Bkt for one pax sai guat and one pax yam rice MYR 23 nett. The yam rice on my plate is half portion as we shared the yam rice.

He also bought a pack of bkt MYR 18 nett for the elderly and served it to the elderly along with most of the chapfan after he reheated the chapfan because the elderly won't eat food at room temperature, wants warm or hot food.

5.34 pm - I have to clear these food so this is  dinner for me. This is considered a late meal for me because I usually stop eating after 3 pm. Remaining elderly's chapfan, stirfry eggs pork meat and remaining meat on ribs from yesterday's pork ribs. The rib bones are so thick. Very meaty dinner.

Elderly's reading before breakfast 10.6 mmol/l. The previous morning reading is 10.4 mmol/l. Looks like the max meds is not effective, need to request doctor to adjust the meds if possible.

Yat Sing Smokehouse Granny Mansion

On Monday 25.dec.2023, went to eat meals at two eateries which we have never been to.

*** Yat Sing Smokehouse ***

12.17 noon - my diy platter.

12.21 noon - took the pork ribs back for him. He ate them and said overall taste is sweet. He prefers savoury. I ate two lamb ribs and a bit of pulled lamb. Ate all the coleslaw and honey biscuit. Then took the remaining home in my own containers for another day.

12.18 noon - my iced lemongrass drink and the honey biscuit from the platter.

12.51 noon - shopfront Yat Sing Smokehouse, walking distance to The Leafz condo. I walked home after this meal. Food for the day is completed for me.

These are the items I ordered for my diy platter. All items taste good so I will visit this eatery again.

*** Granny's Mansion Kuchai Lama ***

10.41 am - his super pork misua wine soup with liver, kidney, deep fried big intestine, pork balls, heart, tongue.

10.53 am - my portion from his remaining misua because I want to go eat lamb ribs at Yat Sing Smokehouse. The deep fried intestine has a strong taste so I ate lots of green chili padi to try to cover the strong taste. The soup tastes of wine because he added MYR 2 for a wine soup.

11.05 am - Granny's Mansion eatery with a queue this early on a public holiday. Customers must love the noodles and congee here.

11.04 am - all tables are occupied in this eatery.

Total price MYR 29.45 nett. After this meal, we went to Mr diy to pass time because yat sing Smokehouse only opens at 12 noon. Then near to 12 noon he dropped me off at family mart because he needs to go home to use WC so I went to eat ribs at Yat Sing Smokehouse and took pork ribs back home for him.
