Lunch at Rakuzen, Starling Mall. Salmon Avocado at MYR 18 nett.
Closed up look at the mentaiko (fish roe). There are cubes of avocado and raw salmon beneath the mentaiko.
Tiny cubes of beef served on a piece of daikon on a rectangle plate (top) costs MYR 38 nett.
Closed up look at the small cubes of beef.
The small cubes of beef dish is the Arabiki (small cuts) choice from the menu above for Wagyu Steak which is supposed to be on Hot Stone. When asked, the answer is the small cuts are too small to be served on Hot Stone so they served it on a piece of daikon instead.
Previously at Kura Restaurant (under the same group), I ordered the Sirloin MYR 88 nett option. For an additional MYR 50 nett, the sirloin is a better choice than this "small cuts" which is so small and the beef is more on the tough side.
Avocado Seafood salad at MYR 23 nett for a small portion. I did not use the dressing but just tasted a bit of it. The menu says it is miso dressing but I tasted garlic bits in it.
The cup of tea is there for size comparison. The slices of avocado are so tasty.
The seafood that I can detect are prawns and pieces of octopus.
Previously the restaurant allows customers to swap the sanma or saba with salmon in the set lunch menu. Now they informed us that if we want salmon as a set lunch, we could order the salmon from the ala carte menu which costs MYR 26 nett and add MYR 10 nett to turn it into a set lunch which one of my friends did. I wonder why they could not include this salmon set lunch in the menu and print the price as MYR 36 nett instead of asking us to order ala carte salmon and add MYR 10 to turn it into a set lunch. So weird.
