Smoked Duck

On Thursday 30.nov.2023, early morning he went over to prepare breakfast for the elderly. Then we went to buy lunch prawn mihun Mee for the elderly. After he served the prawn mihun Mee to the elderly, he went to ER to find out the status of the elderly in ER and gave Family mart tuna sandwich MYR 5.90 nett as lunch to the elderly.

10.39 am - 2 chapfan no rice and 1 hot small cup of cham MYR 15.30 nett.

10.40 am - char siew and siew yuk MYR 10 nett with a few pieces of siew yuk and char siew eaten. He then put two pieces of siew yuk and 2 pieces of char siew in the prawn mihun Mee soup noodle for the elderly but the elderly left one piece of siew yuk uneaten.

12.36 noon - I ate the remaining kale, beetroot, pumpkin and smoked duck bought from Salad Atelier the previous day.

*** Status ***

3.52 pm - ER doctor said based on the latest set blood test results, T4 is still high, needs to revert Carbemazole to 10mg, instead of the halved dose per the discharge plan(19Oct).

They are satisfied with the 120-130 as the average heart rate based on the underlying conditions as long as did not exhibit any symptoms such chest pains, shortness of breath, vomiting.

The hyperkalemia has been treated and is stabilized.

As of 2 pm, the plan is still to move to patient ward for further observation before discharge.

6 pm - moved from ER to cardio ward.

Shoyu Salmon Salad

On Wednesday 29.nov.2023, early morning he went to care center to bring the elderly for the 8am endoscopy appointment.

Buy MYR 45 to get MYR 15 off so I bought two DIY salad. Placed order at 12.23 noon and received food at 12.43 noon.

1.01 pm - two salad with tampered proof tape. Total price MYR 34.39 nett inclusive of delivery fees which means one salad is only about MYR 17.20 nett. Teriyaki salmon is no longer available so I ordered shoyu salmon instead.

1.13 pm - frozen remaining rice from the elderly's dinner more than one week ago.

2 pm - microwave the frozen rice with the salad shoyu salmon and ate them. Tasty 😋

2.36 pm - strawberry yogurt ice cream with pieces of frozen strawberries in it.

3.10 pm - made by unilever Thai holdings. 470g aka 750 ml and I ate it all in one sitting 🤦🏻‍♀️

*** Status ***

7.30 am - he went with a care center staff and the elderly for the endoscopy appointment as kid1 is still on vacation in Hokkaido.

9.02 am - just done pre-checks and payment.

11.49 am - Endoscopy did not proceed as planned due to elevated heart rate, was sent to the Emergency ward for further checks and observation. Blood tests.

1.30 pm - went from ER to elderly's place to ensure lunch is eaten and morning meditations are eaten.

7 pm - he went to buy chicken congee for the elderly in ER.

8.26 pm - Just spoken to the doctor. They will transfer the elderly to the ward. Rbc is 10, potassium is 6. Slightly high. Should cut down on bananas. Kidneys are also quite dry. He fed the elderly with chicken congee.

8.57 pm - ER administered medicine to lower the potassium, to protect kidneys and heart muscles.

9.46 pm - elderly still in ER waiting for available bed in wards so he went back.

Egg Gravy Fried Mihun Kokan

On Tuesday 28.nov.2023, he went over to prepare breakfast for the elderly and then at 10.30 am we went for brunch at KoKan coffee shop.

10.53 am - popiah raw jicama citrus mayo seaweed MYR 7 nett, 

Duck breast meat is sold out so duck thigh meat it is with 1 tofu and 2 braised eggs MYR 14 nett.

Hot cham drink and lemon ice water Kosong total MYR 6.10 nett.

11.02 am - his order of deep fried mihun in egg gravy MYR 10 nett which he noticed on our last visit here and earmarked. He also bought one pack MYR 10 for the elderly's lunch.

11.13 am - he gave me this portion to eat because he is full. The egg gravy taste good, with a hint of wine and vinegar, not salty at all so I drank all the egg gravy.

After that he went to serve lunch to the elderly and received a message from the care center requesting for supplies so I bought:

And then to the care center we went to hand them the meds and two packs of 15 pieces each.

Early breakfast

On Monday 27.nov.2023, at 6.30 am he went to the care center because the CT scan appointment is at 8 am. Kid1 is on vacation in Hokkaido now so he went with a care center staff. Waited a while for their turn and the CT scan MYR 225 nett was completed by 8.52 am.

*** Bakeroni Taman Desa ***

7.26 am - my very early breakfast of omelette and salad set with foc hot black coffee no sugar MYR 14.50 nett. The omelette has cheese and tomatoes in it. I slowly sipped the coffee which is a bit sourish until 9.30 am.

*** Ten Kopitiam Taman Desa ***

9.54 am - he ordered a polo bun butter set with 2 half boiled eggs and hot coffee MYR 12.90++ which is very hot so in the photo above, the hot steam can be seen.

9.57 am - whole chicken leg nasi lemak MYR 19.90++ and they served the two half boiled eggs still half boiling in hot water with a timer clock so that customers can keep the eggs in the hot water for longer if they wish to do so.

10 am - the polo bun with butter is acceptable.

10.50 am - total price is MYR 34.75 nett.

Went to CantonZ stall in Jalan perisa but it was closed on Monday. Kokan coffee shop is also closed on Monday so went to Swee Hing coffee shop.

11.32 am - MYR 10 siew yuk and MYR 10 char siew so total MYR 20 from swee hing coffee shop for his dinner.

12.26 noon - I ate all the remaining half patty and bun from MyBurgerLab bought on Friday but kept the fries for another day. So one burger I took 3 days to eat it all.

On Sunday 26.nov.2023, he ate brunch with the elderly at Soon Lei Kuchai Lama before both visited the care center. Then in the evening, he wanted to eat early dinner at Fatty Mixed Rice Sri Petaling and after that, we redeemed a free drink at HOP Pinnacle condo before sending dinner chapfan to the elderly.

10.56 pm - he forgot to request for no milk for the fish fillet mihun soup so he couldn't drink the broth due to the milk. Just ate the mihun. He brought some salted egg yolk mantis prawn for the care center elderly to addon for lunch as a treat. Both dishes and hot tea cost a total of MYR 50 nett. The elderly likes this mantis prawn dish. Seems like the operator of this eatery may have changed as the faces are no longer familiar.

3.28 pm - my 1st meal of the day. Ate the remaining half avocado that he kept aside for me with a slice of wholemeal bread. Very creamy so is tasty. Ate half the remaining beef patty and bun fro MyBurgerLab bought on Friday. Didn't eat all of it as he wanted to eat early dinner at Fatty Mixed Rice so I will eat some vege there too.

4.25 pm - two chapfan no rice MYR 12 nett.  On my plate: okra, broccoli and one braised egg.

*** HOP Pinnacle Condo ***

4.55 pm - there are only 3 types of drinks to be redeemed: lo hon go drink, sour plum drink and honey lemon drink so I selected iced sour plum drink with no sugar. Also ordered hot red bean soup MYR 5.90++ and hot yin yong drink MYR 6.90++ so the total is MYR 14.85 nett. He asked me, did we really get a free drink? 😅

4.57 pm - the red bean soup is acceptable. The hot ying yong has strong fragrant milk. Although he can still tolerate the milk taste, he couldn't drink all of it so I have to wrap up all 3 items so it was not surprising that I got the following numbers:

Observing

Saturday 25.nov.2023 is 3-visits-a-day day. He went over at 7.45 am and the elderly is not home. He walked to the nearby makeshift morning market and saw the elderly eating jackfruits and offering the remaining jackfruits to the people in the market. Then the elderly walked home and he made breakfast for the elderly.

We then went to Taman Desa for brunch, bought roast chicken rice for the elderly's lunch and supplies for care center. Then dinner time, he bought soup from a nearly eatery and reheated some food from the fridge for the elderly's dinner.

10.51 am - 2 chapfan no rice and 1 daikon soup MYR 29 nett from Sing Kee Kitchen Taman Desa.

1.09 pm - I ate the remaining cold rice from Monday which is 5 days ago from JP & Co directly from my freezer. I was surprised to find that the rice is not frozen at all but still soft. I guess it is because vinegar has been added to the rice but the rice does not taste sour.

1.22 pm - he asked me to try the Butlers triangle chili and lime chocolate. The chocolate taste is rich so the lime is just a bit sourish and the chili taste is just a tiny bit spicy.

Encore Mini Tarts

On Friday 24.nov.2023, he suggested going to Midvalley Mall to relax and have brunch so we went there. Then stopped by care center to drop off supplies. Bought some mini quaint tarts and dropped them off for my friend. Stopped by to check on elderly to ensure lunch sent by kid1 has been eaten. Then only back home.

*** Encore Cafe Taman Desa ***

2.37 pm - encore Cafe Taman Desa has 14 types of mini tarts and I bought 12 types at MYR 53 nett for my friend. The two types that I didn't buy are mini tarts with marshmallows toppings.

My friend's comment:

- dark purple sweet potato+santan=not too sweet so is most nice.

- light purple yam light coconut=3rd nice

- blueberry =2nd nice. As long as no cheese or pungent butter or intense milk then is tasty.

- Marmalade, peach green tea all contain a dash of sharp essence =flavour enhancer. 

- Marmalade has more citric acid.

*** Nyonya Colours Midvalley Mall ***

11.13 am - he selected nasi lemak beef rendang. The portion of rice is small so is just the right portion for the two of us. Taste is good although a bit on the salty side for me.

11.14 am - nescafe Tarik kaw kaw which is really thicker. Total price MYR 26.85 nett.

11.05 am - there are many types of deep fried food items sold in Nyonya Colours cafe which is so tempting. Cekodok, fried banana, kuih bakul in the above photo.

11.06 am - cucur sayur aka vegetables fritters and sardines puff.

11.06 am - chicken egg curry puff and cucur udang aka prawns fritters.

11.06 am - cucur badak aka deep fried sweet potato coconut with fillings of minced dried shrimps chili assorted herbs, chicken samosa and potatoes only curry puff.

1.09 pm - so happy that MyBurgerLab is now in midvalley mall. Please click on the above photo to read the menu. Peanut butter jam burger is back so I will order that one day. I bought takeaway for the burger with shredded beef brisket which is item no.2 in the above menu.

12.18 noon - this year the Xmas Decor is by the company that has rented this space for promotion of its brand.

*** Early Dinner ***

4.04 pm - when dropping by the elderly to ensure lunch by kid1 has been eaten, he found Tuesday's dinner in the freezer so he took it home and steamed it to eat for his early dinner.

*** MyBurgerLab beef brisket burger ***

4.12 pm - the box

4.13 pm - burger and fries. I like the clove of garlic that is given with the fries.

4.27 pm - removed the burger bun on top to see a layer of pulled beef brisket and then below it a layer of caramelized onions so I ate these two layers with the bun and from the fridge, two slices of whole meal bread. The two layers are quite sweet. Kept the remaining for another day.

4.42 pm - kept the beef patty, fried cheese and bottom bun for another day.

Confirm Slip

On Thursday 23.nov.2023, went to Golden Chopsticks for brunch and then to hospital to get confirmation for CT scan date. Then back to the elderly's place to prepare lunch by steaming Wednesday's dinner.

10.59 am - 2 chapfan no rice and one hot drink MYR 17.3 nett in total.

11.48 am - went to hospital to get this appointment confirmation slip.

1.44 pm - I ate all the nasi lemak from the previous day.

12.36 noon - elderly's lunch from Wednesday's dinner.

On Wednesday 22.nov.2023, occupational therapy appointment for elder.

7.22 am - he ordered meat mihun kway Teow soup and coffee. I didn't order anything.

7.20 am - view from our table.

7.31 am - my portion. Sat there till 8 am and then he went to care center.

8.16 am - bought nasi lemak and hot long black set at MYR 5.90 nett. Drank the coffee when back home and ate the nasi lemak the next day.

The roasted pumpkin tastes very nice.

The pulled beef is tasty too.

The olive oil doesn't smell like the extra virgin olive oil that I often use.
