Then we went to Midvalley Mall on an errand. Ate basil fried rice which includes a fried chicken wings and breast meat at Upeh. I also ordered an ala carte beef rendang dish.
After lunch, I went to do two errands and he walked around a bit window shopping and he saw Aeon Food Court has completed its renovation and looks good. Penang Chendul is now available at that food court so he asked me to eat Chendul and rojak there. Unfortunately they don't have rojak on their menu at this location so he bought white curry instead.
When I was walking to Aeon Food Court, a sign board caught my attention. It says buy 2 free 1 so of course I couldn't resist.
On the way back, we dropped by the care center and delivered wound dressings to them. He also bought a chicken bakwa and floss bun MYR 7.50 nett for the elderly as a treat.
*** Buy 2 Get 1 Free ***
2.19 pm - Bought two mochi pies, get one cheese tart free. I ate one bite each of these 3 items and kept the remaining for another day.
2.12 pm - The counter.
2.20 pm - Red bean mochi pie MYR 10.50 nett has less red bean in it than the sweet potato in the sweet potato mochi pie. The buttery pastry crust is crispy because it is sprinkled with sugar bits all over it. The mochi inside is springy QQ so the texture contrast is a good experience. Taste good too.
2.23 pm - Sweet potato mochi pie MYR 9.70 nett. Similar pastry crust and mochi fillings as the red bean mochi pie. Sweet potato fillings taste good.
Total price is MYR 2.20 nett.
*** New 3jc stall ***
I water fasted from about 6 pm on Tuesday and ate this breakfast at 8 am on Thursday so it is about 38 hours. I didn't plan to water fast but it just happened that day I didn't go out the whole day and I wasn't feeling hungry at all so I decided to not eat anything, just drink water for the whole of Wednesday.
*** Upeh Midvalley Mall ***
12.20 noon - my portion of the rice and the ALA carte beef rendang dish MYR 14.90++ and hot nescafe susu MYR 6.50++ so the total price is MYR 47.90 nett.
*** Penang Chendul Aeon Food Court ***
*** Errand ***
1.16 pm - one of my errand is to get back MYR 44.30 nett. Rate is 0.1477 but there is a better rate offer by the opposite kiosk which is 0.1478 which is a difference of 4 cents only.
Before breakfast the reading today is 4.9 mmol/l which is very good.
Kid1 today brought one Starbucks pastry for the elderly because kid1 was confused and went to the hospital at about 9.30 am because she thought there is a physiotherapy appointment on this day.
Love the pictures! Can you please tell me what is a 3jc?
ReplyDelete3jc is from the words 三间庄San jian chuang which refers to a type of pork balls noodles.
DeleteThe full explanation copied from the wiki online:
The name of Sanjianzhuang Pork Balls comes from the row of shophouses behind the shopping mall near Petaling Street in Kuala Lumpur (currently renamed Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock). , named after only three connected stores. At that time, many shops in the area were selling various kinds of noodle soups. One of the shops sold pork ball noodles which was very famous. Its pork balls were not round, but made into rows of rectangular shapes. Due to the addition of flour, , so it appears white, and its meat is also very elastic and refreshing. This kind of pork ball noodle is very popular among locals. It is eaten with soup rice noodles or rice noodles, and a few slices of roasted sausage, which became the prototype of Sanjianzhuang pork ball. Later, the shophouses in that area were demolished due to urban renewal and converted into a McDonald's behind the shopping mall (Kotaraya) [1] . Although the original Sanjianzhuang has disappeared in the development of Kuala Lumpur , its practice is still passed down, so that there are still pork ball noodle shops with the name of "Sanjianzhuang" in various places in Kuala Lumpur, making the long pork balls Pork ball noodles have become the mainstream in Kuala Lumpur , and the soup noodles using this kind of pork balls have gradually been called Sanjianzhuang pork ball noodles by Kuala Lumpur citizens [2]
