Vadai

On Sunday 14.jan.2024, he tried out the trotter wanton Mee in the nearby coffee shop and found it to be tasty so he bought one pack for the elderly's early lunch. Two meetings at 9 am and 2 pm.

*** Neighbourhood ***

7.45 am - tasty dry trotter wanton Mee MYR 12 nett from the new stall in Tim Won. The gravy is a bit spicy and it has pieces of crispy lards mixed in the bowl of wanton Mee. The trotters have no meat, only thick gelatinous skins.

Hot cham MYR 2.20 nett. He bought a pack of soup wanton Mee with trotter MYR 12 nett for the elderly who ate it with gusto and finished everything.

8.13 am - saw this ice truck delivering ice cubes to eateries early morning.

8.35 am - there is now a gelato coffee cafe in the vicinity called Miink Coffee but it is closed on Sunday so I haven't tried its desserts and coffee.

8.26 am - just noticed that the fruit stall has a name board.

Close up to see name board: Fruit Point.

8.50 am - the former 7-11 is now a 24 hours eatery called Shirin Maju.

9.05 am - ready cooked food sold in Shirin Maju eatery. I bought one of each for the 4 types of deep fried items at MYR 1 nett: A triangle samosa with vegetables peas, carrots curry in it; a potato curry puff; 2 types of vadai.

10.32 am - I ate the two steamed dishes he brought home yesterday direct cold from the fridge. Taste ok.

10.56 am - the two types of vadai: one thin and one thick. I don't know their exact names but I like the taste of both.

1.48 pm - his all meat lunch: steamed chicken and char siew from Tian Hong eatery. Total is MYR 27 nett.

2.58 pm - I wonder 🤔 why is the old person sitting there under the hot 🌞 sun.

  1. I like the vadai with the lentils inside. The other kind is something like a doughnut?

    1. I also like the thin more nutty vadai. The thick one is shaped like a mini doughnut with a hole in the middle but tastes savoury.
